The car did run gr8. I drove it frm for few kms (10 maybe) with Karthik247 trailing behind me in his skoda. The sound coz of the straight pipe which replaced teh muffler is great. I love the sound and the way it pulled. Never had fun in any car lately liek this.

My Xing is silence and I cant do 100+ in it with windows rolled down. But in thsi I could. And I loved teh look in people's face when they saw an OLD M800 overtaking them )

Oh, it drives well in straight roads, NH type and a bit bumpy like regular M800.

guys what about the gear ratios of the 800.Increasing the power will help in increasing the pickup but the top end(4th gear on the 800 will have the same gear ratio) and with the stock 800 gearbox i dont think it is capable of going 145 and 150 kmph as there wont be the revs (max engine rpm 6000rpm) to take it there..Please correct me if i am wrong

1st Leg: Banglore-Hosur-Salem-Coimbatore-Valayar Palghat-Thrissur-Guruvayur.

2nd Leg:Guruvayur-(NH17,via Varapuzha, took a wrong turn came to paravoor, then again on NH47 and to)-Kochi-(byepass)-Cherthala-Alapuzha-Kollam-Trivandrum

The total distance covered in total, starting from Bangalore to Trivandrum, including few rounds at guruvayur & ernaks came to around 919kms.

We came to know that the tyre was punctured when we entered kerala, a nail was the culprit, the tyre still had air. Of all the things i forgot to take a 14size spanner to loosen the nut that holds the stepney, the wheel spanner i din't forget. Usually i keep a variety of spanners and things in the tool bag, but this time while i was cleaning the car i forgot to put all of them back.

Then we carried on to the nearest petrol bunk filled air in the tyre and continued our journey. It was raining heavily at this point of time. We travelled about 30km like that then spotted a tyre shop, put the stepney (it's not an alloy) and carried on till we reached thrissur. At thrissur we got the tubeless repaired at Saturn. The rain din't stop till Guruvayur.

The roads till the valayar border were nice except a few places near Dharmapuri, not potholed, but patched up, the patches are enough to unsettle the 800 at high speeds. From valayar to thrissur the highway did have quite a number of potholes. From thrissur to guruvayur the roads were not good, bumpy, potholes at some places.

Guruyayur ernakulam NH17 was not bad, except that the roads were narrow, the surface was pretty good.

Ernakulam to cherthala it was nice and clean. Byepass is good till Kaloor junction (or the junction were KRbakes is), after that it's patchy, bumpy and single laned (at a section). The roads gets better again when we take a left and enter the four lane towards alapuzha.

From there to trivandrum it's okay.

Humyum, the gear ratios of the SS80 (old hatch) and the current models are different. I don't know if the mpfi and the carb versions of the current 800 have different ratios, but SS80's is different.

I can put up the gear ratios of my car once i reach bangy, i have it in the owners manual which i've kept there.

Humyum:Increasing the power does increase the speed not only the pickup, provided it has enough torque to attain that speed in top gear. And that depends on gearing.
