Ridingo is a car pooling service designed for professionals. Using the internet or a mobile phone, a car owner can share empty seats in his car while commuting to and from a venue. It is an on-demand service where the car owner need not commit to ride sharing on a daily basis.

There is no cash exchange involved. Riders will pay car owners in coins. Once the car owner collects 500 coins, he can redeem them for fuel. Passengers get 50 free coins from Ridingo to start with.

The company claims that this service caters to only professionals from reputed companies who are verified manually. An official email-id is the primary mode of verification. Ladies will be paired up with other ladies only. However, if a lady wishes to travel with select male users, she can use that option.

Benefits for car owners:

• Helps cut fuel expenses as the car owner earns credits every time seats are shared
• Lesser pollution and congestion since fewer vehicles will be used
• Provides company during driving

Benefits for passengers:

• More comfortable than bus, autorickshaw or two-wheeler
• Priced similar to AC buses which makes it cheaper than taxi or autorickshaw
• Chance to meet like-minded people and make new friends

At present, Rindigo services are available only in Bangalore. Android users can download a mobile application for Ridingo (click here), while Apple and Windows users will be provided applications in the coming days.
