A slightly different angle.

The pic was shared by fellow member DRIV3R. No clue where he got it from though.

This was circulated in FB. Seems like the owner did not pay the Chauffeur his fees and so he parked the vehicle like that and walk off.

Seriously this shows the skills the chauffeur had, if this is true.

Seeing this pic I am convinced that fitting the Fortuner in there is not a difficult task, although time consuming, and would involve multiple forward-reverse iterations. Consider this akin to turning around a large vehicle on a somewhat narrow road. It will involve turning forward and reversing with full steering lock over multiple iterations, and is surely doable.

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

Out go all the theories doing the rounds in these last 4 pages. From the new picture it appears very much possible now. Infact given the ample space available it would not even take probably more than 4-5 forward-reverse maneuvers.

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

The man has surely got some super skills. And after watching the video on page 2, I think this is achievable. I am now seriously thinking of trying this with my alto coming Sunday. Of course I will use some cardboards (something like that) instead of walls. We team-bhpians must surely try this.

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

I got this as a forward in viber and never believed it. But I see it has spawned a new thread here already!

I cant come up with any logical explanation as to how somebody could manage to park like that apart from drifting! I doubt the theory of multiple maneuvers being done to park looking at that small space and the large vehicle. As somebody earlier in this thread has already suggested, the diagonal space required for doing that maneuver is pretty small for this big a vehicle.

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

Still hard to believe. If he has parked without any lifts, its a remarkable feat.

I am little bored this morning, so did some math

Consider this. There is barely 15-20cms left between the wall and the bumper. The vehicle length is 4705mm and width 1840mm. Diagonal length would be 5052mm. Considering the bumper roundoffs, the diagonal length could be 4750mm (reduced 30cms). That leaves less than 10cms for each backward/forward motion. Now anchor the rear wheel and do full lock turns shuffling forward and backward, move the front slowly in. And assume that during each motion the front of the vehicle moves in 5cms? He would have changed gears 40 times!

BTW, the Fortuner has one of the best turning radius 5.6m for its size.

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

Well If the driver was p***d he could have parked outside and then got it pushed inside the space by manual labor ( 2-3 guys pushing together). Possible? I think so. May be I am dumb...

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

Engine oil and chocks would have left marks on the flooring.
Though the T-fort has large overhangs, driving it in would not have left the skid marks near the front wheel.
I still think that it was reversed into the space so that the left rear corner was as close to the wall as possible. Then the front was winched in either by an in built winch or with ropes tied to the front part of the chasis. The window bars would have been used to anchor the winch.

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

I can only think of 1 way to park this Fortuner.

1. Place 4 slabs of thick Ice blocks outside the gap in the same position as the tyres.

2. Drive the Fortuner over the ice blocks

3. Push and slide the vehicle into the gap

4. Wait for the ice to melt

Come morning and it will look like a super parking job

I agree, No way the driver could have parked while driving it unnoticed of the owner. Either the owner is a very sound sleeper or he is away from home. It had to be pushed in using whatever method if it was to be done without the owners approval . Unless the owner wanted to pull a stunt on himself by proving a Fortuner could be parked in his driveway.

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

Looks like that fortuner is in storage mode, look at the over inflated tyres. There is no way that it was driven into that position, i think heavy duty wheeled trolley jacks and some manpower did that.

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

If the Fortuner was reversed into that slot, and had some fancy reverse siren/music to boot, the neighbours would have had a gala time!

Re: Fortuner: Insane parking!

If this was done by an annoyed driver, and if that is the door to the residence behind the vehicle, I'd love to see the owner's face when he opened the door.
