India's cup is not a race nor a competition but an adventure rally spread over 15 days, starting in January 2015, where participants will explore several parts of the Indian subcontinent. This event is organised by
Travel Scientist. There will be lot of driving over the 15 days; 3,260km to be precise. Participants will cruise through breathtaking Indian sights and scenes during the day and celebrate with cultural activities by night such as folk dancing, sampling local delicacies and trying out some regional recipes.
Date: Starts on 18/01/2015 (Chennai) and ends on 01/02/2015 (Chennai)
Route: Chennai, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Panaji, Chitradurga, Mysore, Coimbatore, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Tuticorin, Thanjavur
High Points:
- Each team can have up to 4 participants who can ferry either in their own vehicle (not necessarily a car), or have the option to rent a vehicle - an HM Ambassador!
- Pre-booked hotel package options. Participants can also opt to arrange for their own accommodation
- A luggage truck is available too. Motorcyclist get to take the luggage in the truck for free. Others get an allocated space in the truck, either free or paid (optional) depending on the package selected
- Travel survival kit will be provided which includes a medical kit, tool kit for the vehicle, a tailor-made Road Book, a mobile phone with a local pre-paid SIM card and a custom made ID card with all your vital information, among other things
- Each participant will receive a customised shirt, cap and badge among other goodies
- A mechanical and medical crew will be a phone call away in case of emergency
- Visits to local schools are arranged too
- An opening party and closing party are arranged for all the participants to socialise
- The event will be covered across the globe from TV and radio to internet and magazine articles
- Participants will be in smaller groups for better coordination and an overall experience
