Boom Shiva,
There is a reason and that is because, sometimes the instrument cluster is a bit messed up.
There has been a time when my driver got stranded w/o fuel because the fuel meter indicated that there was enough fuel and there has also been a time when one day i saw the needle approaching the E mark quite fast and though the petrol was leaking only to go to the petrol pump and fill 6.5lts of petrol.
Also the speedometer conks off at times and more importantly, the temperature needle rose a bit too fast. Within those 4km, the temperature needle rose from C to H.
So i thought even the temperature needle started giving me a hard time.
Cheers

NC

My sympathies. Spirts and spirituality are very important. Do offer a coconut to Ganesha. Also take tsk's advice very seriously.

Ask me!
My new tubeless tires got torn after running into a really big pothole in the middle of the road on the NH 47. Exactly a week later I braked for a pothole on teh same strech. And this time a truck rammed into the car from behind.

Take your coconuts, lemons and black threads seriously. They are a whole lot cheaper than banged up rides and come with "Peace of Mind" garunteed

Please bear this post of mine guys - coz I have nowhere to go and bang my head.

The last incident happened on 10th Sept. After that around 25th an auto comes and bangs into the rear again.

October 11th - I go to Powai and when I park my car I see there is a big dent on the LHS front door - some bugger in the night while reversing his car in our parking decides to bang in.

14th Oct - I get the jobs done - car is back to its spotless self - was supposed to be polished today which dint happen due to various reasons

and a bloody Mahindra comes and bangs into the car same place which was repaired and painted causing a dent.

What have I done to deseve this ?

The car is absorbing all the bad luck on your behalf. Keep it.

IMHO take your car to a nearby temple and get the puja done ASAP.

NC, try keeping one scratch or dent on it for "nazar". Dont keep the car completely scratch/dent free and all shiny and polished.

I had the same problem with my black lancer. Everytime the car would come back from service it would be all shiny and someone would compliment the car as to how well maintained it was, and soon after someone would bump into the car.

This kept happening quite a few times and the target was always my right rear door and the car was always stationary. After that i took it to a temple got the pooja done and let a small dent on the car remain. since then (touch wood) nothing has happened.

A couple of months back, I was crossing the W E Highway at Kandivili underpass, Akurli road. There were concrete road divider blocks placed on the road on the western side on the road towards the railway level crossing. I was behind a taxi, and while I usually travel very close to the car in front, for some reason I slowed down, and there was a two car length gap between us.
At just that point, the front right tyre of a truck coming from the other side went just over the edge of one of the concrete blocks, and the block spun and bounced four feet across right in front of me, and rolled across my path! Had I maintained my normal distance, the block would have carried my car with it, with perhaps a big hole in its right.
These things happen off and on, and we can only thank our lucky stars for getting away unscathed.
Sorry about NC's plight.

NC, here is my advice.

sell the car at a throw away price (to me) & get a new car & give that also to me for safekeeping. i will make sure there are no dents or evil spirits wandering around your car.

hey, get a grip of yourself man. this is got nothing to do with spirits & stuff. just pray to god before you take your car out & thank him for saving your life everyday. here's a prayer that i have put up in my car.

keep your hands in mine lord
as i drive this car
let me be concerned for the
safety of others as well as my own.
Amen.

and surely take tsk1979's advice very seriously. visit the local bar everyday & lift your spirits. cheers
