I have a Toyota Innova Diesel. I went to Chennai from Bangalore on Saturday (9/9) and returned the next day. On the way back, about half-way thru the journey, when the speed was between 115 and 120 km/h, I heard a tick-tick sound (frquency about 2 times a second); when I slow down the noise stayed till I went below 100 and I think the frquency of the ticks decreased . Then it started happening at around 110 km/h. I stayed at or below 105 for the rest of the journey. I plan to take it to Nandi Toyota soon. I wonder how they can reproduce the problem in Bangalore as there is no way those speeds can be achived in the city.

Have any you have any idea what may be going on?
Also is there a thread for these type of questions?

BTW, the toll roads and the scenery are fantastic with long stretches with no other traffic. There are very few decent places where you can stop for a quick bite, though. The one scary moment in the trip was when on the toll road thru some village, two cows raced onto the road. I could slow down in time and also no one was behind us. This being the second trip I was not shocked to see autos, buses, motorcycles on the fast lane coming in the wrong direction towards you. So I stayed on the slow lane as much as possible. But on couple of occasions I saw a bus in the slow lane coming in the wrong direction.
