What happens to the fast tag when we sell our car? Do we transfer it? Or we do we cancel the tag and the new buyer applies for a new tag? Has anyone experienced this?

I tried to transfer the tag which unfortunately did not work out. So I cancelled my tag when the new owner procured another tag. Since the new owner was known to me, and the car hardly ever got on to a tolled road during the period, the tag issue was the least of our concern

Even if I have no wallet, and irrespective of the tag provider, I can charge anyone's fastag with the following UPI VPA: netc.<vehicle reg no>@<tag provider>, you are most welcome to try this out on netc.rj14nc6162@equitas

Only thing is that you won't get debit SMS since the who knows which phone number is linked with that tag.

I received my HDFC FastTag last week and used this method for a 100 INR recharge as trial, using googlepay. GPay correctly verified the id as HDFC BANK LTD FASTAG. But its an hour since the recharge from GPay but there is no credit of this in the tag account.
Lets see how much time it takes to credit. I had assumed it would happen instantaneously.

I tried the same thing for hdfc issued tag from GPay. It worked almost instantaneously. Got a SMS and email confirmation from HDFC.

Its more than 2 hours now, still no credit visible in the tag.
Tried to call their call center at 1800 120 1243, but guess what, this number comes up as busy !

Anyway, as a last resort, have mailed support.fastag@sahaj.co.in, but I doubt they can help in this case.

Moral of the story: Anything implemented at such mass scale, customer service is going to suck big time.

This query is for people with multiple private cars. I understand that we need to purchase separate Tags for each car. What I don't understand is how to link them under one login.

What I want is to have all the tags listed under one account so that I can see the balances and recharge whichever tag needs to be charged.

This is of-course for private cars owned by the same person.

Has somebody done this and if so with which of the numerous providers offer this kind of service. ICICI, HDFC etc.

I searched in this thread but could not find this question, if it is posted already then please point me the post.

As mentioned in the previous post (in response to your question) if you have an existing ICICI tag, you can update the details for your second car, make the payment and then contact the ICICI customer service to process your request and dispatch the additional tag.
With ICICI, you can also do it the old school way by applying for a new tag from them and then asking them to link it to your existing customer ID and that links both tags under the same login, I had done this and the process is detailed here in my earlier post - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/stree...ml#post4344352

As you can see, it took about 2 minutes from paying and confirmation.

I've applied ICICI Fastag via iMobile App and got it delivered today in 4 days flat.

Sorry for back to back post. But edit option expired due to some issues with my internet service provider.

Sharing my experience of procuring of fastag through ICICI iMobile App.

1. Logged in to ICICI iMobile App.
2. Followed the pop up appeared on home screen for fastag. If pop up doesn't appear, it can be accessed through recharge or shop tab.
3. Just filled in vehicle details.
4. Message poped up that no KYC needed due to existing customer.
5. Made payment of 499.12 INR.
Fastag charge = 99.12 INR
Refundable deposit = 200 INR
Fastag account balance for vehicle = 200 INR
6. Got SMS immediately about fastag account number.
7. After 30 minutes, got SMS regarding connecting vehicle number to fastag account. May be backend verification regarding vehicle took 30 mins.
8. On 3rd day after placing order, got SMS that fastag has been dispatched through DTDC alongwith tracking AWB number.
9. Received fastag on 4th day.
10. Downloaded POCKETS App by ICICI, one time time registration and voila all fastag details accessible in this App with all transaction details viz amount debit, credit, toll plaza, timings n all.

Hope this helps!

You can do the same if you use UPI via GPay app. Your UPI ID could be netc.YouCarRegistration@icicibank, so try paying 1 rupee towards it.

I'm already having GPay set up with my ICICI UPI ID. However, while accessing GPay, I couldn't find any option to recharge FASTag other than prepaid mobile recharge, utility bills payment.

I applied yesterday through iMobile app and was assigned the tag number.
In the recharge section of the iMobile app there is an option to recharge vehicle or recharge fastag wallet. What is the difference?
