I am facing issues with ICICI tag closure.

First, etoll mobile app is discontinued and Fastag merged into imobile app. But there is no option to close a tag in it.

I managed to find my login of etoll app and requested closure. I attached their own statement as there is no passbook for my ICICI account. Request was rejected but one cannot view the reason for rejection.

Second time, I attached the ICICI bank cancelled cheque leaf but rejected again. Now there is no email address to write to know the reason. It seems calling is the only way.

Overall too many dark patterns with ICICI in Fastag closure. When PayTM was closed, it was just breeze to do it in the App.

I was asked to use web login and not app while closing the Fastag. See if it works for you.

Received a message from AX-ICICIT saying 30+GST will be deducted National Pension Scheme Corporate Contributions from 01-Jan-2025.
Has anyone got this message? When was this rule/change announced?
Since I have fastag from ICICI, no other service, I assumed it is deduction from fastag. And we have no control over auto deduction, we can't do anything :Frustrati

I need some assistance here from the users of Airtel fastag and from others as well.
I have been using Airtel fastag since more than 2 years now. I also have Airtel Savings Bank account, which I use for recharging the fastag.
But recently I got an SMS stating that “Dear Customer, your opt-out period for charges has ended & charges will apply on your Airtel Payments Bank A/c basis this implicit consent w.e.f. Jan-25.”
Upon enquiring I got to know that there is no way I can avoid these charges (Rs42+18% GST every quarter) again, as the waiver can be provided only once.
So, I asked them if I can close this savings account, for which they said, I need to close my fastag before I can close my savings account.

Now, my question to those using Airtel fastag, is this the case for you as well?
Earlier I was using paytm fastag, for which there were no charges. So, I have not used any other fastag to know the charges from others.
What do you guys suggest? Close Airtel fastag and buy fastag from other service providers?

I went through the same story. Although Airtel has a basic account on which they are not supposed to charge anything they do their best to discourage users from having it. I got fed up and went ahead to cancel the fastag first, then closing the savings account after a few days.

And got myself an ICICI account. My main requirement was the ability to auto charge multiple fastag accounts and this is now possible with ICICI. Also I already have an ICICI savings account and so this was seamless for me. Ordered via the iMobile app and it was quite simple.

I as well have Airtel Fastag and the Fastag amount gets debited from Airtel Payments Bank account. Have not seen any charges so far. I will need to keep a close watch on the accounts statement. I went for Airtel Fastag as the same account can be used for multiple vehicles and I also use Airtel PB account for small UPI transactions.

Has anyone recently applied for ICICI fastag through their website?
I am applying for my father's car with all his details, but facing issues. The webpage gets stuck and doesn't go to payment page.

Hello group,

I had a strange issue while travelling to Hampi from Bangalore and back. At one toll gate, it said my fast tag is black listed. I think it was the one before A2B at Sira. I called up my fast tag bank, Axis customer care. They said that since my fast tag is 5 years old, it is deactivated or closed. I need to order a new one. I said ok and continued on. Strangely though, at subsequent toll gates the same fast tag worked. Same things on return journey, at a couple of toll gates, it failed. Some toll gates it worked

Now I am confused if it is closed or working. Should I order a new fast tag as Axis Bank customer care said ? Do fast tags really have an expiry date ? How to check the status ?

Thanks. I tried the iMobile app as well, it wasn't working. So applied ICICI Fastag through Amazon (created a separate account for my father) and got the Fastag delivered in 2 days.

Is this annual and lifetime FasTag plan too good to be true?

Rs. 3000 for annual pass and Rs. 30K for 15 years with freedom to pay across any toll booth in India?

Is fastag even going to exist in 15 years. Isn't it's replacement already being planned?

Nitin Gadkari has said that NHAI is also planning to go for the next stage of toll collection. That is not via toll booths, but via sensors fixed on the roads which will automatically deduct the tolls based on distance travelled etc.
