Just went ahead with the ICICI fastag person suggested here in this thread (Nagesh), and sent him the following documents via whatsapp yesterday:
- RC copy
DL copy
PP size photo
Also did an NEFT of Rs. 510 towards the ICICI ETC POOL A/C.
Today, checked with him, and he informed me that the process has been initiated and he should be able to get it couriered to my home by this Friday. Will share once I receive it.

So I collected the tag yesterday and the tag was active. I logged in online and recharged the tag as well. Smooth process as of now. Now to try it at some toll over the weekend.

Yes, most of the tolls on these routes are Fastag -enabled.
I just had a query here. I applied the fasttag sticker to my car but noticed that there is no bar code present. BETL sticker has the barcode but this doesn't. Is that how the tag is? I am using the tag from IDFC bank.
That silvered strip on the tag is an rfid chip. Thats all that is needed

AFAIK, the toll folks do a check in the toll cameras to identify if any vehicles have passed through fastag lanes and charges not been deducted. So they would have manually updated the system to deduct the charges from your tag account.
If you have the receipt of the toll paid by cash, I would suggest you to raise a dispute with the fastag account and get the charge reimbursed.

AFAIK in attibele fastag does not show registration number... Just it will show thank you or invalid tag message. Most probably you also had betl tag which is not valid in attibele. Only for betl tag, registration number will be shown in the display.

Have done that already. I think smnrock's answer is the correct one.

Thanks! I believe this was the reason. Although, the toll plaza had no problem opening on my return journey.

it depends because it's always a random thing. If you have both the tags, then it is going to be a problem always in attibele and betl tolls. The toll boom behavior is dependent on which tag the sensor reads first on that particular moment. Sometimes it will just deduct both tags if you had balance in both the tags.

So that means NPCI or NHAI is delaying payments to bank.
This could also be one of the reason toll operators are not keen to shift to Fastag. Other reason being the obvious black money part.

I also received the same SMS. But, how is black money possible in this? Don't we all collect receipts even if we paid cash?

Yes, we do receive receipt. But it's not just about the payment, the whole system of awarding contract is bit questionable.
Since this thread is related to Fastag, not discussing the details of the toll issues. However, you can refer this article for getting an idea on what I am saying.

In the last couple of months, I've passed the Devanahalli toll about 3-4 times coming back from the airport. Each time, my tag has been read, the boom barrier opens and I've driven through. But my Fastag account has not been debited, nor have I got a SMS even after 1 month. In effect I am not paying any toll !
Happens only at this toll plaza. In every other tollgate, my Tag is being read and the toll correctly debited.
Is this happening to anybody else ?P
PS : Oops. Just saw from earlier posts that this is happening to others as well. Please ignore this post; sorry. We'll all enjoy the free ride !
