Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

I used the fast lane on a tollbooth by mistake. They do accept cash too.
Funny thing is that as I was making the cash payment, the boom gate opened and I heard honking behind me.
I realised the guy behind me was using fastag and had activated the boom gate. After I paid, I went through and saw in my rearview mirror that it opened again for him quite quickly.

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

While I was checking Toll Plaza List on www.nhai.org, the link "Cashless tolling
(Fastag) on national highways" was throwing error.
Hence I decided to check www.fastag.org.
The FAQ on fastag site showed a Link List of Plazas. When I clicked on that, it opened ICICI Bank Fastag List of Active Toll Plazas
On that ICICI site, the List of ICICI Bank active Toll Plaza shows 285 Toll Plazas whereas the List of Other Bank active Toll Plaza shows 65 Toll Plazas only.

Does this mean that if I get SBI Fastag, it will be supported only at those 65 Toll Plazas?

Just means that you can buy SBI fastags at their sales counters in 65 plazas and ICICI at 285 plazas.

Regardless of which bank you buy fastags from, they will work at every fastag toll. No tolls that will work with one bank but not with others.

Sir, I think you got mistaken. I wanted to say that ICICI Bank website mentions 'List of ICICI Bank active Toll Plaza' -285 Toll Plazas and 'List of Other Bank active Toll Plaza' - 65 Toll Plazas and not NHAI or FASTags website. So I was (and still am) confused as to whether Other Bank FASTags will be supported at those 285 ICICI Bank listed Toll Plazas.

Regardless of which bank your fastag will be read, don't worry.

A small change in pricing by ICICI for FasTags with effect from 01-Jul-2017 after GST was implemented and Service Tax withdrawn.

Deposit remains same @ 200.00 per tag as before.

The tag which was earlier priced @ 173.91 + Service Tax @ 15% (26.09) = 200.00 has now become 165.00 (new price of tag reduced from earlier 173.91) + 18% GST = 194.70.

So, if you issue the initial cheque for 494.70, 200.00 will go to tag deposit, 194.70 will go towards cost of tag and you will have 100.00 balance, the minimum needed.

Note that this applies to ICICI and I have no idea about other banks.

On another note, I applied for a new tag for a new vehicle but under my earlier online login account on Thursday with ICICI Bank and gave just RC and cheque for 1,900.00 (of ICICI). On Friday, tag account got created. Today, tag was issued and activated and pasted to the windshield. Balance is 1,505.30.

Yes, I gave a cheque of ₹500 and had ₹105.30 as available balance when the tag was activated.

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

Gents, looks like by mistake (was in a hurry) I have added money to the CUG account, instead to my tag. See the screen image. I would not be using CUG facility, as I don't own a fleet of cars. What can be done to correct this? Some correction which I can do myself through the web site, or I need to get in touch with the customer care?

transfer balance from CUG to Tag. You should find an option for CUG Balance transfer under the Payments drop down.

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

Traveled from Hyderabad to Bengaluru and return last weekend, All the tolls are manned and allowed only fastag vehicles in fastag lane, which was quick, but two toll plazas which were allowing cash customers were Raikal(near Hyderabad) and Devanahalli(near Bangalore). This caused considerable delay on both these tolls.

I have raised the complaint in ICICI fastag portal and also in NHAI using http://pgportal.gov.in/ . Last time i raised a complaint in NHAI for the same issues in other toll booths in karnataka, they had inquired with the toll booth operator and toll booth operator had written a letter telling he will follow the guidelines of NHAI going forward. Expecting similar action against these two errant toll operators.

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

Finally got my Tag from HDFC. Experience to get it was not very smooth unlike others. It took 2 weeks in all after many calls to their customer support and Local Bangalore person. Courier guy added to 2 extra days in delivery. Only thing that had quick response from them was that email to send application. But the folks were helpful and they blamed the system slowdown previous week.

They entered my Mobile number incorrect and waiting it to be updated along with Tag activation that they do on getting car pic with Stickered Tag.

Question: The receipt that they sent me had validity as 1 year.
Can someone verify on their HDFC FasTag receipt please? I thought it should be 5 years.

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

Today, I tried applying online for Fastag on icicibank.com/fastag.

In that I came across some terms in GST Details Column as below-
FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!-icici-bank-fastag.png

Please help me select the options inside the Red Box.

I have a valid GST No. in the name of my Father's Proprietory Firm.

I don't think you need to provide any GST details if you are taking this for your personal vehicle. But, if the vehicle is registered under your father's Proprietary Firm, then you will need to fill the details accordingly.

The same thing applies if they are registered in his name as an individual.
