Kerala sets an example - Citizens come together to clear the way for an Ambulance

It was only a few days back we learnt of this idiotic EcoSport driver who was busy blocking the Ambulance. This time though, Kerala and Ambulance appear in a rather heart warming news story.

A short excerpt -

Quote:
The baby who was admitted to Kannur Pariyaram Medical College was to be shifted to Sri Chitra Institute in Thiruvananthapuram. Given the critical condition and tender age of the child, air ambulance option was ruled out and the only way left was via road.
..
..
The number and detail of the ambulance were shared, and people on board were giving out regular location updates on social media and WhatsApp based on which locals cleared the traffic on time as the ambulance approached
..
..
The road trip of more than 500 kilometres, which would have taken at least 14 hours for the ambulance to reach the hospital, was covered in 6 hours and 50 minutes.

One thing that would have helped was traveling in the night.
Even with a pilot clearing the way and advance notification to clear the path, during the day it would have been longer knowing how congested the NH is from North to south Kerala.
Not to forget the race spec private buses that would be pulling crazy overtakes in the opposite direction.
