Unfortunately speeds cannot be maintained regularly on the Old Madras Rd due to too many obstacles ( bullock carts, tractors, etc), Police roadblocks (near Palamner), too many nonmotorized/pedestrian/animal traffic and very heavy truck/bus traffic on this 1-lane highway. Also the Volvo factory is on this road - so expect lot of 16-wheelers Volvo trucks racing down and up. |
