Voted for SBI Fastag - It may sound crazy - but as most of you - i would refrain from Govt banks - however it happened when i got my N Line last year and had to cross a toll on day 1 of delivery. Had no option, so took fastag from local guys in Manesar toll plaza and i was initially not happy that they had only SBI as an option. However its been 6 months using this and its a seamless experience everytime - instant recharge and deduction messages. |
Exactly the same. I was not given any choice - just given the SBI fast tag. However, it has been a pleasant experience so far - no wrong deductions and no blacklisting problems. Replaced the new card as the old one was peeled off during CR70 installation on windshield. The new card was issued in a day from a nearby SBI customer service point along with balance transfer from the old card. The cons are there are no apps, just the website for recharging.
The current webpage is
https://fastag.bank.sbi. This is like any other government websites, which needs a bit of a polishing. The payments go through and recharges well so far. My total loading is ~Rs. 52500 and total debit is about 48k. Have not contacted the customer service as I had no complaints in these 3 years. Hope it stays so.
Quick query regarding IDFC fastag. In how many days the physical tag was delivered to you? Anyone has placed order in last 2-4 weeks please share your experience.

I have opted for AirTel via the AirTel app, hence have voted for others. AirTel money is fairly easy to use and the deposit etc are seamless. |
Absolutely :thumbs up.
I was compelled to purchase AirTel for my new vehicle when I hit the toll road for the first time. Just Airtel fellow was accessible around then.
To my surprise, the process was very smooth, and the tag (the guy pasted immediately) seems to be an advanced ??!! :) one. Toll scanners pick this label quicker than the old one, and the transaction history is updated quickly in the app.
Prior I was utilizing ICICI and need to login into their site to really have a look at the transaction history. Not even once, I got the SMS on time.

Got Equitas for all 3 cars....
Their top-up process is simple and moving funds from wallet to tag or tag to wallet for multiple cars allows you to shuffle the funds around based on the upcoming usage of the cars. |
+1 for this, Have Equitas for all 3 cars and its very easy to manage. I usually keep money only in the Equitas wallet and minimum balance ~100Rs in each tag. Based on which car I take for the day where I need to pass through tolls or some mall parking, I move the funds to that tag and then move back to wallet at the end of the day.
The App is also very good and never faced an issue so far.
I have used 3 different bank's fastag till date - ICICI, HDFC and IDFC First Bank.
ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank have been good experiences, though I found HDFC bank slow to respond to queries once when I had to replace my fastag.
I did not have good experience with IDFC First Bank when there were delays in crossing toll as the reader was not able read the tag properly, the overall help desk experience was very very frustrating. Finally when I could not make much headway, replaced the IDFC Bank fastag with ICICI bank.

I have a doubt for those using Airtel tags, please suggest. In Paytm, I manage three FASTags for different cars under a single wallet account. I don't need to recharge separately for each car; I simply load the amount in the wallet, and it's used for all three cars. Will Airtel Payment Bank work in the same way? Can I use three FASTags from Airtel, and if I load money into Airtel wallet or payment bank, is that sufficient for all three FASTags if it is under same mobile number ? |
Hello
Yes, all the fastags will be linked to the Airtel wallet and any deduction due to passing of tolls by any of the cars will be directly deducted from the wallet.
I have been using Airtel fastags for 3 of my cars and operate all of them from an Airtel wallet linked to a single mobile number through the Airtel Thanks app.
Hope that helps.
KN.
I have initiated a closure on my PayTM FASTag today and the status of it is "Closure Initiated".
Can I create a new FASTag request with another bank now or need to wait till its status is closed?

I received the IDFC FASTag today, that’s within 48 hours after I applied for it.
The Paytm has initiated the closure two days ago, it still shows active on NPCI website.

Yes you can order a new fastag. I ordered from ICICI and they delivered the tag in 3 days (there was a weekend in between). For some days both my PAYTM and ICICI was showing active. Paytm shows cancelled as of yesterday.

Yes, you can go ahead and purchase a new one. No need to wait until it gets closed.
Even if it shows as active on the NPCI website, the most recent one will be active, and all others apart from it will be deactivated automatically.

What a coincidence!! My Airtel fastag got damaged sometime ago and I got PayTM fastag then for both cars. With the current situation, ditched 'em and PhonePe suggested ICICI and got 2 from 'em. In hindsight, I should have gotten the new ones from Airtel.
I thought there would be similar wallet and auto-top up, but it is not the case, so have added 5K and let it be. There is an App by ICICI, eToll which helps you track, so fingers crossed. I do not have an ICICI Bank Account or use any if it's financial services (apart from insurances).
Is the Fast Tag offered through Phonepe and Amazon the same ICICI one?

Hi Sheel. Have you gone through the user manual of ICICI Fastag? I believe it has the "wallet" and the "auto-top up" features. I am yet to get my ICICI Fastag, so can't say that I have tried these features. But I was checking out the portal and the PDF and read about the features today morning.
I am unable to attach the PDF, but you can find the same on the ICICI Fastag portal after you login to your account.
Do share your experience if you get a chance to try out these features.
