Re: Precautions to take while using public transport in India (post-lockdown)

With the number of passengers limited per bus, I feel that the crowd may get shifted from inside the bus to bus stops. Earlier the buses ran packed during the office hours. Now i think that people boarding the buses from intermediate stops (not the start/end stops) will have to wait longer to get into a relatively empty bus. Who will enforce social distancing in bus stops?
As many others have pointed out, personal transport has indeed become important. With the winters coming in a few months time, how will pollution & odd-even be managed now.

In most parts of north India, last mile connectivity is provided by overcrowded autos, e rickshaws. How will they practice social distancing?
Challenging times indeed.

Indian companies need to take a leaf out of China's LSEV market and perhaps develop small capacity (2-3 people) quadricycles with compact dimensions and economical prices. Ultra small vehicles can offer quick and easy movement and still offer sufficient protection.

Re: Precautions to take while using public transport in India (post-lockdown)

A point to consider is that air travel is far far safer than any other means. The reasons being, air inside the passenger cabin is thrown overboard every two minutes. The incoming air is circulated via high capacity HEPA filters, which can filter out particles as small as viruses.
Airports are going to be highly regulated and sanitized areas with atleast 5 checkpoints from entry until boarding where in each and everyone will be checked and monitored. The catch being the public transport component from your home to airport and vice versa. The ideal way is to use your own car for pickup and drop to the airport.
