Man organises parade to show off his new GLE-Class & trucks; police seize vehicle

In Idukki district-Kerala, the supposed to be first sold BS6 Mercedes-Benz GLE was impounded following a road show by its owner. Despite COVID-19 protocols, the road show by owner was conducted with the newly purchased SUV along with his newly purchased TORUS trucks. The pure show of wealth, attitude didn't go well with Kerala Police. The vehicles are impounded. However, the arrogance of owner is still visible in the news articles - He claimed he owns many other luxury cars and is not in a hurry to take the vehicle out of the police station!

The business man is know as a controversial figure for arranging a big party during the pandemic lock down.

Keeping the history of illegal night party aside, do cops have the authority of "impounding" a car like that for violating covid lockdown guidelines ?

In the pics, I see he's standing in his car without a mask, and his vehicles behind him. But no direct gathering of humans (?)

He's standing in his car through the sunroof, and a dangerous driving case is booked against him. Why don't we see such action during the election campaigns ?

And for vehicles behind vehicles, I remember this post from our Team-BHP :

The guidelines, both the central MHA version and the derivative state ones, have been vaguely worded with a lot of discretionary wriggle room for implementation.

If they want to make something (anything) stick, it will. Whether it will hold up in a court of law will only be known if someone takes it there.

Here are some videos of the roadshow with him on the car:

We keep discussing on how unsafe it is to put your head out of the sunroof, and here he is coolly sitting on top of the car without a care or worry.

An update on this event as heard from news :

All his trucks as well as the GLE was impounded. The GLE's sunroof is not closing as he deformed the sunroof by sitting on top of it. Pictures of the GLE wrapped in a plastic sheet was doing rounds in WhatsApp as well. I really wonder if he gets it under warranty since of this ongoing issue as well as the car was not registered yet.
