Pics from July 4th celebration

I attended a Shell-Chevrolet sponsored 4th Of July (American Independence Day) celebration at Houton, Texas. Here are some pictures from that event (apologies for the
picture quality)

I want this car! (Seems like one designed for Drag race)

Chevrolet Camaro Concept Car

Hummer (old and new)

OK now it's the trucks. Texas is known as the land of the trucks. And it's true, texans just love trucks. They even use these small monsters for daily commute to work. Guess this state has a lot of space, oil and money.

Nascar Cars

Enjoy Maadi..

Hope you are able to see the pics Nitin..

Since the event was sponsered by Chevy, cars from other manufacturers were not on display.. but there were some army vehicles on display.. Here is one of the them, looks like some kind of a desert light strike vehicle

Yes indeed the Humvee is build to last and is noticeably wider than the hummer.. Here is some gyan on Humvee and Hummer (I must admit that I used to think that both Humvee and Hummer are the same vehicles)

H1 Humvee vs H2 Hummer

One more look at the magnificent beast..

Thanks folks...

And yes the Camaro Concept is indeed a beauty.. here are some specs:
  • Corvette-inspired 400-hp LS2 engine
  • 6.0L aluminum small block V8 (a true muscle car)
  • Six-speed manual transmission with widely spaced ratios for aggressive acceleration and efficient highway cruising.
  • Active fuel management designed for impressive fuel efficiency
  • Four-wheel vented disc brakes with massive 14-inch brake rotors
  • Sophisticated chassis with four-wheel independent suspension and progressive-rate springs.
  • Five-spoke cast-aluminum wheels
  • 21-inch front, 22-inch rear wheels
  • Exposed, high performance brakes
