Longest Drives!

The longest I have done in a single day:
1. 15 September 2013 - Mumbai to Delhi in 18 hours (Start at 3am arrival in Gurgaon at 8.30pm all stops included). Car was BMW 320d. Total Distance approx.1450 kms.
2. 26 Feb 2012 - Muzaffarpur to Gurgaon in 15 hours (Start at 6am arrival in Gurgaon at 9.15pm all stops included). Car was Pajero SFX. I was alone in the car. Total Distance approx.1100kms.

1450km, approx.
From Mumbai to Faridabad.
I've done this many times, in my Honda City iDTEC as well as my Scorpio.

Did this once in our old CNG WagonR as well. Dog-hit post Udaipur in the middle of the night, busted radiator, spent all day sleeping in the car while it was getting fixed. So that one does not count

My longest single day trip was a round trip to Ponnamaravathy, a town near Pudukottai, TN. Distance covered is 828 Kms roundtrip in i20 petrol

3 weeks. 11 states. 7200 kms. Single stretch drive of appx 1400kms with breakfast, lunch and dinner break. Appx 4000 km of night drive included. Ride: My Gangsta (2003 Mitsu Pajero GLX / completed the 2 lac ODO during the trip).

My longest drive in a day is 1100 kms in 13.5 hours (6.30am to 8pm) from Bangalore to Nagpur with 3 breaks.
The return journey from Nagpur to Bangalore took 15 mins less though.

I had driven from Lansing, MI to Atlanta, GA overnight, non-stop.

About 1250 km (800 miles)

I just completed a cross country loop across USA from Phoenix, AZ to Augusta, ME and back to Phoenix. Made a lot of detours. 7000+ miles in 3.5 weeks covering 20 states. One of the more significant road trips I've ever done hands down.

The longest drive which I did in single day was from Chandigarh to Jhansi (712 kms) via Delhi, Yamuna Expressway, Agra, Gwalior. This drive was a part of the Chandigarh-Hyderabad-Chandigarh road trip which I did in March 2014. Did the same route in a day while returning also. While returning drove from Jhansi to Chandigarh on a tank full without refuelling on the way. The car was Swift Dzire Vxi (Petrol) and the journey time was 12 hours. The entire drive was smooth except the heavy traffic encountered while crossing Delhi and Agra and also the bad condition of highway between Jhansi and Gwalior, which increased the journey time by nearly 1 hr 30 mins. The best part of the drive was continuously cruising @ 140 km/h for 1 hour on the Yamuna Expressway.

Wow! One of my dream journeys. I want to do this at least once. I might get back to you for more details on this when the 'right' time comes.

My longest has been 500 kms from Delhi to Palampur, which I have done countless times as we have family there. The longest time taken was 12 hours back in 2004 (Maruti 800), while the shortest was 7 hours last weekend (Fortuner).

My Longest drive is to Ladakh from Chennai and total kms covered is approximately 5500 kms. Longest drive in a day is 1353 kms from Chennai to Thane.

I have done quite a bit of long drives in the last 3 years:-

1) New Delhi - Jodhpur - Jaisalmer (805 kms) - Mercedes Benz GL350
Left at 4 AM in the morning and Reached at 8 PM

2) Pokaran - Jodhpur - New Delhi (698 kms) - Mercedes Benz GLE 350
Left at 7 am and reached at 5 pm.

3) New Delhi - Solang Valley (568 kms) - Honda Amaze S i-dtec
Left at 10 am and reached exactly after 12 hours

4) Keylong - New Delhi (670 Kms) - Honda Amaze S i-dtec
Left at 3 PM and reached at 4.30 am

5) Pune - Khatu, Rajasthan (1230 kms) and Vice Versa - Toyota Innova
Left at 4.30 AM and reached at 11 PM

6) Pune - Udaipur (900 kms) - Honda City V
Left at 5.30 AM and Reached at 7 PM

P.S:- All the drives mentioned above were done in 1 day

I have done of couple of long journeys which include the following:

1) Fortwayne, Indiana (USA) - New York (USA) - approx 700 Miles - Pontiac G6.
Left 4.30 AM and reached 7 PM.

2) Swindon (UK) - Isle of Skye (Scotland) - 690 Miles - Vauxhall Astra
Left 5.30 AM and reached 8 PM

3) Faridabad - Shimla
Left 5 AM - Reached 2.30 PM

4) Faridabad - Nainital (Couple of trips as my In laws stays in Haldwani)
Left 12 PM - Reached 7 PM.

My longest drive was in the month of October 2015. the trip was of around 4900 kms.
Coimbatore - Hyderabad
Hyderabad - Nagpur
Nagpur - Amravati
Amravati - Jalgaon
Jalgaon - Dhule
Dhule - Burhanpur - Jalgaon
Jalgaon - Aurangabad - Pune
Pune - Coimbatore.
The last leg of the journey of 1400 kms was done in one go & it took 18 hours. This whole trip was completed in10 days.

Longest drive so far is 3000 kms, spanning 3 days from Banihal to home in Bangalore as part of the return from Ladakh expedition.
Completed this in my 2012 Scorpio 4WD. Started at 6-6:30 and stopped around 8.

Longest drive in a single day is from Chindwara to Bangalore covering 1250 KMS part of the above drive. We started at 6 am and reached Bangalore at 9pm with stops for food and fuel.

My longest drive till date was between Niagra Falls and Chicago back in September 2015 and it was one the most boring drives at a steady speed with 90% driving by my left thumb (Cruise Control) in a 2015 Santa Fe.

Covered a distance of 575Miles (925Km) starting at around 8:30AM and reaching at 6:30PM (both times local) with one break for food and refueling.

We covered the onward journey also at a stretch but thats a story saved for another day.
