Re: Neighbour crashes her car into my BMW 630d in the parking area @OP - you did handle it gracefully and you helped the lady not lose her confidence ( as opposed to if you had gone fire and brimstone against her or her family, she wouldn't have driven a car in weeks due to loss of confidence ).
When my wife was learning to drive ( she was doing pretty well, even solo ), another car cut her at a weird angle and stalled and my wife ended up rear ending the right corner of the car. The other car, incidentally, was being driven by a learner too. The husband of the person in the other car came out and harassed me quite a bit on the road as Bangalore increasingly is getting known for ( where do you work, where do you stay, can I have your phone number, I will call you if any problem with the car etc). All this when there was no scratch on either car. For some reason, people seem to have a penchant for venting on strangers and over-exaggerating situations while blissfully not wanting to acknowledge their own shortcomings and mistakes.
I tried to handle it gracefully though the fault was largely on the other person's wife ( though if my wife was an experienced driver she could have escaped via maneuvering the car out at the last second), but my wife ended up losing her driving confidence for weeks. We all forget that we were learners at some point, but cannot pass on some kindness to fellow learners. Also embodied by many that just give a cold stare or yell out at driving school cars with learners aboard when they don't move fast enough.
