Re: Bangalore: Shoffr airport cab service; an alternative to Ola/Uber

It’s a pity I didn’t go through the recent posts on this thread. Had relatives coming on an overseas flight and was looking to get a cab booked for a 3am pickup from T2. A few others recommended Shoffr and I went with them. The problems started right from the booking process

1. I made the booking with my login credentials and made sure to add the relatives as the guest (with their contact details). After payment the booking showed me as the guest. Numerous chat sessions with their customer support and I was assured they have updated the guest details (still showed my name which they said was a glitch and to ignore)
2. And of course, at 2 am the driver details was sent to my mobile. Thankfully I had sense to wake up and check; and was able to forward the details to the travelers. Went back to sleep. Got a call after 3 from them saying the driver was assigned to a different customer. Apparently Shoffr had reassigned the trip to a different driver; I sent them the new driver details. Of course, he’s late.
3. By now I’m awake and waiting for them to come home. They take an unusually longer time that the supposedly 1 hour drive it should take. Later found out he took them on a roundabout route.

had mixed feelings with this experience. But after reading the recent posts, I think my Shoffr patronage is done for the future.

Re: Bangalore: Shoffr airport cab service; an alternative to Ola/Uber

The Uber cab which my classmate and I used from Marine Drive in Cochin to Nedumbassery last evening was a squeaky clean, nice smelling Honda City, with a polite friendly driver. It cost me 1600 Rs vis the Toll Road.

And after landing in Bangalore T1 I walked along to the Airport Taxi Pickup area, hopped into the first available Airport Taxi, a Swift Dzire. It was clean, with upgraded rexine upholstery, noodle floor mats and some cushions at the back and was not dusty. I belted in and slept all the way home because it was late at night. I could hear the rumble of the driver speaking on his phone all the way. But the overall ride was pleasant except when he misjudged a couple of speed bumps and pot holes. It cost me Rs 2100/-

Re: Bangalore: Shoffr airport cab service; an alternative to Ola/Uber

Hi,

Even I had few misses off late from Shoffr. They never missed or delayed my onward journey to airport. However, pickup from airport is still troubled. Flights coming early, on time or delayed impacts this as well. Once I landed early, cab was somewhere in city. Decided to take Ola or uber only to realize they were running full and had almost an hour waiting since there were no cabs in airport. Another time flight landed early the cab was reassigned on request. Driver told me he was having dinner and requested for 10 mins. But he did not show up at pickup even after 50 to 55 mins. Decided to cancel and take Ola. And when the flight gets delayed they have to wait for too long than the scheduled time that I feel is not justified. So I do tell them to reassign and move on before I take off (if they can’t reschedule my cab). Overall, Shoffr is still preferred for reaching BLR airport. Return remains a question.
Recently I decided to drive my own car and park. Missed the turn and reached departures to see valet service available. They charged me 900 for 1 day parking. Returned the car in 5 mins of me reaching. No major hiccups although I am not sure where they park. May not be a concern since car was all good.

Re: Bangalore: Shoffr airport cab service; an alternative to Ola/Uber

Had a very crappy experience with BluSmart yesterday. Our relatives had booked a day in advance for airport drop yesterday evening. Rhe cab got assigned only about 15 mins before the trip; the driver calls and tells us he is an hour away and asks us to cancel!!

Thankfully I book an Ola at a premium but who arrives and takes them to the airport in time.

The driver refuses to cancel. All attempts at getting the customer support to cancel the booking - they say yes but instead the cab driver then gets pushed to call us. We give up (plus I no longer had access to the relative’s mobile). An hour and half later, the cab arrives at our location!!!

What a waste of time and money. Pathetic experience by BluSmart.

Re: Bangalore: Shoffr airport cab service; an alternative to Ola/Uber

I used Shoffr recently for a large event. They provide airport pickup drop as well as hourly rental for events.

The team got in touch with me and I was asked to share passenger and flight details for all the pickups in a google drive spreadsheet.

After that a whatsapp group was created and I was given a partner login to check all trip status realtime on their website. I could see when the cab was assigned, and when the trip started.

The shoffr team would send SMS to the passenger with cab details and coordinate with them on the pickup at airport.

In total I had around 40 trips over 5 days and every trip was flawless and on time. They charge a little more than the direct booking for events but they give backend support to track flight delays and reassign cabs based on flight and 100% guarantee on trips.

All the BYD's were neat and clean inside and had water bottles, mints and newspapers.

Only thing I noticed was few of the cars have been quite badly bruised on the outside with hanging bumpers, broken headlights and one even had a bonnet with a huge dent. I think the drivers are a bit iffy in the way they drive.

Overall highly recommend them for events like weddings or corporate meetings where a lot of pickups are needed. Since a lot of the guests had luggage, I didn't risk with smaller cabs with CNG tanks. The BYD's gobbled up bags for 4 people easily, in one case 6 large suitcases plus handbags. It was a boon to have the BYD's over Dzire, Etios Ertiga which are now mostly CNG powered and lose out on boot.

End of the event was given a detailed invoice with all trips.

The added plus was the hourly rentals which is Rs.600 per hour and unlimited km. I used this for local errands and moving people from hotel to home and vice versa. If you take an Innova it's usually 3500 for 4 hours 40kms and from that 10-15kms and 1 hour is cut as they charge from the time they start from the office and not the time they reach your place. In this case the trip starts when the cab is at your gate.

That's nice to hear. I take the Shoffr for airport runs when with family. No worries about luggage.

These Dzires and Etios can be iffy. In one instance I found the boot having a large music system and couldn't fit our luggage.

Re: Bangalore: Shoffr airport cab service; an alternative to Ola/Uber

Hi Guys, need a bit of information on Shoffr.

So, we're a group of 4 going to the airport. All of us have quite a bit of luggage to carry (read: close to 25-30KGs). We live close enough to each other, but it won't be possible for 3 of us to walk down with our luggage to the others' place. When I try and book a Shoffr from one of our places to the Airport, it's shows 1315 as the cost, but the moment I add even a single stop, it becomes 1615.

My question is, whether Shoffr drivers will stop if they are requested to (just to pickup, absolutely no wait). All of our places are within the route that he'd take anyways to exit the area, and he'll not have to deviate anywhere.

Looks like BluSmart is in trouble with their senior leadership resigning one by one. They are facing some funding issue.
I used their services couple of times for early morning airport drops by scheduling the ride. They were reliable & ride was good too.
Hope it survives & continue their service.

Has anyone used Refex Eveelz from the city to the airport? We're looking to back a cab for a 7:15AM pickup. Need to know if they're reliable in that sense.

Pickup from the same route should be fine. Have done that with all cab aggregators. It's the diversion from the route they are not okay with.

Had tried once. Around last Nov or so, went fine.

Re: Bangalore: Shoffr airport cab service; an alternative to Ola/Uber

My recent experiences with Shoffr (since mid 2024 or so) have been quite bad. The last 4 times that we booked, all of them got cancelled from their side saying that they are unable to provide a cab! And they did so at the eleventh hour!

And each of these times, we had to scramble to book another cab. Thankfully, it never happened that we missed a flight. But a couple of times out of those 4 instances, it was a close call as they were at odd times.

Overall, things have not been so reliable with Shoffr recently. I have not booked with them since these instances.

Which cab service did you use? How was your experience?

Were you able to use their services? How comfortable are their cabs and how about the luggage space. Please share your experience.

I have used their cabs twice, to the airport and back. The cars were new MG ZS EVs and clean. The drivers were also well-behaved, and on-time and I had a decent experience.

Game Over.
As per today’s ET BluSmart will by swallowed up by Uber.
And that will likely be the end of their clean cabs.

Blusmart is now cancelling booked rides. I had one to the airport on the 19th and just saw that its been cancelled. No intimation as well. So looks like that's it for Blusmart
