Hey I remember on a trip from Mumbai to Mangalore on our S1 back in 1990, our driver managed to do 120's quite frequently and the top he managed was a shade over 130 ofcourse the actual speed can never be judged due to the speedo errors. It was a brand new car and had done less than 2k's on the odo and engine noise was pretty smooth n enjoyable.

S1 in 1990? S1 engines came in around 1995. My 1991 Padmini driven 35000 kms till date, easily touches 120.!

Mine does 120kmph too but very rarely drive at this speed because the Padmini's brakes take too much time / distance for stopping, not good for safety ! Yes, steering wobble / play is a problem too.

Amen to that! Miss the days I used to sit in the driver's seat of our 1st car, and pretend that I was driving all around town. Of course, invariably I'd be driving my brother around town, mostly to the airport (hypothetically, ie).
