Re: Take a look at this number plate!!

On Friday, I saw a bike with this written above the number plate - P O L I T E (In red). First I thought, why the hell someone would write 'Polite' on a bike?

Then it struck me,if you look at it from a distance it does look like- P O L I C E .Not sure, what is to be achieved though

Edit: I was the lone driver, no pictures of the same.

On my way from Trichy to Chennai I happend to follow a convoy of PY registered cars. A fortuner, followed by Innova, followed by Tata Sumo all with red beacons. The innova and the tata sumo had "Police" sticker on it while the Fortuner had "Govt of Pudhuchery". Thought these red beacons were banned except for few anyhow, the fortuner's number plate looked like orange or red background and the letters were sort of silver embossed. What type of registration could that be?

PS: Sorry don't have a pic, I was driving alone when I spotted these cars,

That sounds like a minister-type (or the LG, or the speaker, or a few privileged others), among the few who are still allowed to use the beacon. GoPY vehicles are a common sight on ECR in Chennai.

Re: Take a look at this number plate!!

Came across this Kochi private city service bus yesterday. The registration number is written as KL Q7 instead of KL 07. This bus might have been plying with this wrong plates for quite some time and would have gone unnoticed till now. Even the MV authorities had, perhaps overlooked this at the annual testing and inspection.
Definitely this may be an inadvertent error.

Found this on Facebook. Obviously a vanity plate but the juxtaposition with the location makes it hilarious!

Many vehicles also have "Great of India" written on back and front. At first, I was thinking what does that mean and then realized it could be meant to look at "Govt. of India" from a distance.

Is this TN 59 BB 6095? I suppose TN 59 must be Madurai, Tamilnadu.

Cheers!

Definitely not legal. But since they have proclaimed to be a Govt vehicle, highly unlikely that anyone will take action. Also, government allocated vehicles have the registration number with G in between, which is not the case here!
