I guess i spotted the same bus in noida on 1st june..
Though the number seems to be 2033 instead of 2034 (as in your pic).

Did some research on internet..it is indeed a Nepal registration..!!
'NA' denotes the NARAYANI district, '5'..the sequence code and 'KH' is code for commercial heavy vehicles !!

If one goes through Rule 50 & 51 of the motor vehicles act then it is clear that the Act requires all the alphabets and numerals to be displayed at the specified size (65 mm height for cars). Therefore the plate which you are enquiring about is technically illegal as the Registering state (KL) and Rto code are appearing in smaller font than prescribed.

Re: Take a look at this number plate!!

Saw this Innova being driven quite very recklessly towards Kovalam (a beach resort area) in Trivandrum. It had red plastic board without any inscription on both the front and back. No lettering or numerals or symbols of any kind. Saw a very small printed paper stuck when I had it right in front of me at a traffic block. Is this legal even if it is a VIP on board? I could make out that it was a hired vehicle by the markings on the rear window. How would we even make a complaint if there was a hit and run?

That printed paper is not even the complete number; KL-01-AW-65 is a Hero Honda Glamour apparently.

You could try emailing the pic to tc@keralamvd.gov.in, but they've hounded out the man who could have done something about it.

Re: Take a look at this number plate!!

I think this is a welcome move to highlight the rampant misuse of number plate rules. Most of the violations that is highlighted in this thread can also be uploaded to the FB page suggested in the article.

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/c...w/38333249.cms

I was wondering why can't the RTO give out the number plates during the registration of vehicles iteself. If anyone found not using that or a number plate similar to the RTO issue, should be fined heavily.

If only he had chosen pink and blue, he could have tried for advertising money from Baskin Robbins!

If the owner has done this on purpose...too good for criticism.

My point is, even if the owner has not done this on purpose, is ignorance an excuse?!

Well - the situation is similar to most of the "premix cement trucks" i see on the road here in Bangalore. The rear number plate would be masked by cement and obviously it would be impossible for anybody to gauge the registration number from the rear.

These trucks compete with the water tankers for the crown of the most rashly driven heavy vehicles on the city roads (the black smoke belching BPO/IT Joe cab is the undisputed king in the LMV segment).

I have never seen any cop stop a cement mixer truck for having obscured number plates. Clicked this one just yesterday in my office complex.
