Re: Take a look at this number plate!!

I am planning to get my plates changed as the previous owner had golden edges on the numbers.
I dont want to be dealing with the cops in another state for the fancy number plates.

Take a look at this number plate!-imageuploadedbyteambhp1415164384.709578.jpg

Yet another cement mixer truck openly flouting the law. Spotted at KR Puram today morning at 8:30 am. Almost looks like the rear registration plates have been deliberately smeared with dirt to hide the number. Noted that the front plates bore a KA 01 registration.

Nagaland may or may not be a tax haven, but one reason for such heavy cranes getting registered is, most other states do not have a clear rule on how to register them. Another reason is, the NL rules do not require the vehicle to be present while registering - the registration can be done through agents stationed at various parts of the country. Call it making hay while the sun shines ;-)

The nosy KA RTO won't spare such juggernauts, and these crane companies do pay the tax, as otherwise their operations and profits can be easily thrown out the window by getting entangled in red tape.

Not sure if you were serious when you said the rear reg plates were deliberately smeared with dirt. If you visit any construction site or a filling site for the RMC (ready-mix concrete) trucks where they load metal, cement and water into the drums, you can see the amount of fine dust and cement that get stuck onto the surfaces. Be happy that this RMC truck had the front plates intact - the vast majority of those tractor-trailer contraptions used for garbage disposal, construction debris movement and also as water tankers, hardly have anything that looks like a number plate.

Re: Take a look at this number plate!!

Maharashtra's Politician & National Congress Party's President, Mr. Sharad Pawar is always in the news for some reason or another.
This image below was probably clicked in Nashik. I am not so sure about it, but at least the vehicle's registration number says so.
And its quiet possible that these two bikes belong to the same person. Have a look!

P.S.: For all those who cannot read Marathi or Hindi the number on Royal Enfield Classic (2124) reads 'Sharad', where as the number on Honda CB Shine (9912) reads 'Pawar'.

Re: Take a look at this number plate!!

Didnt know a thread existed for this nuisance!! I will start clicking all the weird plates found outside metros/cities, you will be surprised about what one can find on a plate.

I have seen many TN-29- ... .... thats it, they leave it blank becasue they dont know what to fill they never bother registering TVS mopeds and cheap bikes in deep rural villages near my town - why pay the 3K for tax and 2K for insurance - just pay the exshowroom and drive happily for few years and sell of the vehicle!!

Forget Khans, Kapoors - put your wifes, kids pic instead (of course current CM pic also preferred )

White background is for US Visas - not for me hehe - pick your background, blue, pink, yellow, mirror finish, you name it.

RESPECT ones name - Tom Dick Harry, in bold, italics, flowery designs, but no place for numbers.

Let me grab a few of these examples and entertain you all.

The few days that I spent in Chennai, I had seen many vehicles with tinted glass and illegal number plates. I am sure that Tamil Nadu Police don't bother much about those who flout the above mentioned rules. Don't know why??

Well, I am not sure how Chennai cops deal with the local cars which don't follow rules, but I am sure not many metro cops would leave a car from an other state [ especially an andhra car in Chennai] flouting rules would definitely appear to them a Juicy meal !!

The reg plate does not seen to be following the current pattern. Could it be an old regn transferred to a new vehicle? I believe certain states allow that.
