In Bengaluru, it's common sight where the speeds are as low as 30 kmph on many stretches, and in some places; speed limits are as low as 10, 15, or 20 kmph.

In Bangalore, the speed limit is 60 kmph for LMV throughout. The BTP advises us to ignore any other posted limits.

(Having said that, apparently interceptors do enforce a 30 kmph limit near lay-byes on BETL).

At multiple locations the posted speed limit is 30kmph, followed by 50 kmph within 500 meters and then again 30 kmph a short distance later. Of course there is no one who drives at these limits, including the slowest possible trucks.

On NH566 when the Kuthiran tunnel was being built (it took close to a decade I guess from start to finish) the roads around those area were narrow and single carriageways. Some parts of it had the old speed limit board still on even when the triple lane dual carriage way sections were operational (thankfully they do not seem to be there now). One could see a 30 kmph and a 100 Kmph speed limit board within a span of 10 meters or so.

I think highway construction does not seem to follow any kind of best practice as far as I can see. There are ridiculous situations where the entry to the highway from the service road has a speed breaker (good luck trying to merge into the fast moving traffic). The only saving grace is that the highway is not as crowded in the Palakkad thrissur section and hence you can get a lean patch where you can merge in your own sweet time.

Today I have been fined again for driving at a speed of 70 kmph on a 4-Lane highway near Bhuntar Town.
I guess at this rate I am going to be most valuable customer of Himachal Police.lol:

Look at how disconnected the governments own departments are.

Samruddhi Expressway - Speed Limit 120.

Delhi-Mumbai Expressway - Speed Limit 120

Cars Buzzer to come with factory continuous beep at 120.

hopefully things will be streamlined soon and we won't have random challans and checks
