1) How to use dishwasher - please empty food leftovers before you load them inside dishwasher (Pic of dishwasher damaged by employee onsite and billed to corp credit card after empl checks out)

2) Dont tie petticoat naada's across the hotel room to dry chaddis and banians - use laundromats (Pic, of course!)

3) many more .... and then a toilet seat with 2 dirty shoes imprints on it (Thankfully flushed - yeah, pic!!) - and to "please learn to use toilet paper to ..." and dont splash water all over the carpet!!

4) Please DONT APPLY for 2 days leave on a 4-week onsite visit with reason "Fell off Toilet Seat trying to do it Indian Ishtyle"!!

These points were there - are there - will be there!

Looks like this has graduated from pamphlets and stickers on local trains to billboards. Ctrl + C/Ctrl + V yo!

Toilet Humour live from my workplace restroom. Don't ask where I work !!

EDIT: For more clarity:
- Many of "these" are "Under Maintenance" for a long time now.
- Frustrated employee writes "For How Long ?".
- Unpaid Frustrated Janitor (probably, or just another frustrated employee) writes "As Long It Takes"

Good one!
I'd seen a similar "Under Maintenance" sign with a comment saying "Yes, that's what caused this!" (meaning it is under maintained and needs more maintenance)

When my wife says, "Under repair," she means broken. I can't say I often hear this usage, but i doubt that she is unique, so it must be, at least among some, and Indian-English usage.

Perhaps the same is true of the toilet fittings: "Under Maintenance," Just means broken. How long will it take? For ever!

This might not appear quirky to most Indians but my British bro-in-law finds it wildly amusing.

Especially more so since the word "Harsh" is used by many establishments.

Harsh for Indians = joy, gladness, delight,

Harsh for Non-Indians = cruel, severe, jarring etc

Don't you speak English with Indians in general? Under repair or under maintenance is the only way we Indians refer to things that are, well,...under maintenance

Well, due to my sad inability to learn any other language ...yes! [Blush]

So, it's odd that I don't hear this more often from others. Or perhaps it's one of those things that it is things that "go under repair" in one's own house that one is most concerned with, so I discuss broken stuff more with Mrs G than with anyone else.
