Poppy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The same plant is used to get opium and these seeds also contain the intoxicating property.
Used in cooking.

My dad's friend cooled his heels in a Saudi prison for 3 months, while they did all sorts of tests on these seeds before letting him go.

This dude must surely be a primary school drop out.
Don't know whether to laugh or cry.
I have heard of people mis-spell their shop names
to get attention, but this is so confusing.
I had a tough time deciphering the code.

EDIT: Seems like someone is hinting that the
jogging track is shut, or joggers need to
shut up while jogging, or lovers need to
keep it low, but again the
sign says 'upper', totally confusing!

I think he meant to say Jogging suit, Track suit, uppers(pullovers) & lowers. Clothes I guess, is what he was trying to sell!

Edit: 26 to 50 could be the waist size

Thats indeed what it was. I have had kheer and sweets made of poppy seeds. Did not feel the legendary intoxicating effects. Probably need to eat lots of it for a kick.
Tried the kheer every night for a few days to get rid of my insomnia but ended up watching movies till 3 am anyway.
Shocking, what happened to your dad's friend.

There are different species of poppy, and the opium from an opium poppy comes from the white liquid that oozes out of the seed head when it is cut, not from the seeds.

Apparently there is a similar compound in lettuce, so try salad before bedtime instead!

bblost, yes, that is a shocking story.

OT but still.

Insomnia is a very common issue. A lot of us suffer from it. MY wife thinks I have it, I don't agree.

But there are some small changes that enable me to sleep earlier.

No TV after 10:00 pm.
I believe that viewing television will cause insomnia. Its either the need to follow the story that keeps you awake or the radiation from the screen. Either way TV is a big NO NO if you want to sleep.

Tubelights: The white light seems to be a problem as well.

Reading: Some book but with adequate lighting available helps immensely.
I use my phone for reading. Generally feel sleepy and am out within 5 mins of closing the book, oops phone.

Food: Early dinner helps. But not so early that you start getting hungry. If needed a glass of milk will suffice. Don't eat oily or salty snacks before going to bed.

Smoking: will not help you sleep.

Balcony: If unable to sleep within 15 mins of lying down, take a walk thru the house. Stand in the balcony and let the fresh air of the night soothe you down. If you end up seeing something that gets interesting and takes away your sleep, don't blame me.

I am wondering why would anybody do such a thing. Maybe someone used the "Honey I shrunk the kids" shrinking gun on this one.
