I see this sign daily and wonder what it is for. There are no restrictions on this stretch for any vehicle type or based on time of day. Traffice police are stationed a few feet ahead of this at the junction and I have never seen them restrict entry onto this road or even challan anyone. Someone please enlighten me, what am I missing.

No Entry sideways? Maybe for them drifters

On a serious note, that is a DO NOT ENTER sign. if you've played games like NFS, this sign shows up when you try driving in the wrong direction. However, don't understand why it's been put at the location. Doesn't make sense. Does it mean don't enter through that gap?

God knows! Thinking of stopping one day and asking the cops stationed on the junction about this 'No entry'.

I really doubt if Bangalore Police are so well versed in English to really understand the meaning.

I wonder what he would write on the board if he has to literally translate it into Kannada. Then he will be in Trouble

Did you check what is the signage on the other-side? Was the board reused for painting some other sign for the oncoming traffic?

No such sign on the other side or at least isn't so prominent.
