It's my mother tongue. Some of its aspects make it a very simple language --- but spelling is not one of them!
@ TEG - that was not a confusion of between ee or ea. It was leg piece not leack pees. Leg piece is the most prized portion of chicken in TN, as important as a chicken breast piece in the US. Coming to think of it, we do have a fetish for leg pieces. Remember Rambha's thunder thighs? EEKS!! (or is it EAKS??)

Found this in the neighborhood some time back.
Some kind of specialist in spellings I suppose
Ironically the shop is located near schools
Enjoy

Wow... Had me double fooled!

I know we have a problem using the streets as toilets (or that the problem is that we have no problem using the streets as toilets ) but... defecating the walls? That's difficult!

Disspossible
is a word that could well catch on. Festivel is surely limited to those that celebrate Murugan? Many, many other bits of magic in that sign!

I know in some movies and novels criminals refer to them as pigs, but it's really not fair to club them under 'Frozen Meat'

Steal Parat is the most expensive at Rs.99 because you are allowed to steal again. In Marathi, 'Parat' means, again.

BTW, I know that Parat/Paraat is a utensil.

This is the perfect example of what happens when you ask a question with some unwanted words in it! Could not stop after reading all the responses!

Are our trains lying down?

This notice is fixed in our trains near the emergency stop chain. While the English text sounds correct, the Hindi text sounds funny! The word "Khadi" has a different meaning altogether! The Hindi sentence would translate to : If you want to make the train stand up, pull the chain." Why can't our people use simple words? The word "Rokne" would be more appropriate as in : Gaadi rokne ke liye zanjeer khichiye!

That sounds like it has been translated to English and back again a few times, getting muddled in the process. Could it mean "bring to a stand," which is an obscure way of saying "stop"?

Do I see two different spellings for zanjeer? The second line I believe says sanjeer.
