Swift Diesel Experience, on the beach :D

I had driven the SD (swift Diesel) just once, that too for around 20-25km in the city sometime back. My initial idea abt the SD was that it did have a lotta punch, when the tacho needle kissed the 2000rpm mark. Quite good for city driving (being small) etc etc.
But yesterday, i got a chance to drive it for around 250km and boy, was i impressed! To the core.

My friend, Amit Chhangani, along with a fren of his, Ron, came to my place in New Mumbai from Pune in the morning in the SD. we left New Mumbai by around 8amish for Kashid beach. He drove while going and i was getting impressed with that punch everytime the needle went over 1900rpm. And then we reached a beach, around 7-8km from Alibaug (towards Kashid). I had been here earlier and we decided to check it out. It was isolated, not a soul around and so we decided to play around.

They say practice makes a man pefect. Getting used to the power, and handlin of the SD

And then the fun started

The sun was comin down hard, but the white SD looked great

After a while we headed to Kashid beach, had fun in the water (without the SD ofcourse). Spent a good 2-3hrs, then headed to Murud. The roads are awesome, with views of the sea from the mini-hill roads makin the whole experience too good.

We also went on a 2km offroad to small mines

The drive back was fantastic. One thing which was of a bother were the JK Tyres - absolutely no grip. Even while accelerating out of tight curves in 2nd at low speeds, when the needle went over 2000rpm, with all that torque coming in, the tyres begged for traction. Bad, very bad.

on the panvel bypass toll road, with the windows up, and at 120km/h, i cudnt feel as if this was a diesel car, and pressin the accelerator shoved the car further towards 140km/h without a protest. Diesel fun!

on open roads, the SD came into its own. overtaking vehicles was never of a both. I must say, im love with the SD. for the app 575km Pune-Mum-Murud-Mum-Pune trip, the car returned around 17.5kmpl : not bad, considerin the fun we had.

The getz D may be faster, but with good tyres, the SD can show it the dust, plus the fact its cheaper. Personally SD for me.

Where? The pics are from an isolated beach, around 6-7km from Alibaug, towards Kashid

Thad : Yeah. Actually i had been here on my Karizma sometime back http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...ighlight=beach) and hence had an idea abt the sand. At kashid however, an over enthu Alto guy rode on to the beach, but got bogged down. it took a good 30mins and 7 people to get the car out!

Bunny.. u do get around a lot along the coast line !! Have you been to Tarkarli (Sindhudurg) beach? We are planning to head that way, come december.

Also, I hope ur friend had the car washed afterwards. Otherwise, residual salt may trigger rusting.

Wow! The last pic with all the doors opened looks fab, and the one for drifting in the sand that too was awesome.
