Hi Friends,
Thanks for all ur replies, appreciate it...
Well the other guy was driving a Maruzi Zen vehile.
I saw him coming towards me at full speed, honked like crazy, but could not manevour more, cos there was pole beside, so got that part damaged.
I beleive the hit was hard, but swift body was strong enough to protect any damage inside.
Only the parts were replaced like fender, front mudgard, headlights and other minors the cost of which was not higher than 200 - 300 rupees.

Still waiting response from you guys on screwing up his happines..
Is there anything that i can do guys to sue him...
Waiting on ur opinions.

Neways just to inform you guys, through some link, i got to talk to the personal assistant of the commissioner of police, and he said i can come up with my FIR copy and he can help.
But the cops say that he has already paid fine in the court, and they also have a written statement from the owner of the car.

So, i was wondering would it be of any help going to the commissioner now...

there is no rule of paying any fine in the court for accidents. its not that he has broken a traffic signal to pay a fine. he surely has paid the fine, but to the cops own personal fund, thats the reason they are not interested in pursuing it. if you want to take it further, demand for the copy of the f.i.r
. but what use will it be. at the most you can threaten the guy to pay the money for the repairs. these cases wont stand in court and will take forever, wasting your time and money in the meantime.

Let me know if you guys need more details.
Consult a lawyer, especially if you have someone in your family/friends circle.

Abide by the advice given by tsk1979.
That is exactly how things are and are likely to remain.

Man, that sucks. Feel really bad for what happened to you and your car. On the bright side: You're safe and your car's been fixed.
On the dull side: You've been wronged and the law-enforcers have been paid-off. I would pursue this on prinicple alone, but in all likelihood, all you're doing is making your life difficult and prolonging the pain.

All the best!

By the way, does your car have airbags? If it does, I'm assuming they didn't deploy because the impact was more to the side than a direct frontal collission?

What do you mean? Bigger vehicles have right of way while while they are driving on wrong way? If so - nonsense.
Cops or no Cops - If it is a narrow one way road, and if i see someone coming from the wrong side, I make sure that they realize what they are doing. I always push them to the side. It is not me who will slow down - they have to slow down, and they have to give me space.

Do not give way to one way violaters. Some of them actually have ***** to blow HORN.
IF they bitch , let them bitch. Dont get away with "chalta hai" mentality.

eflanker, I think being cautious is very important. It is better to stay safe than question too many things which we already know don't work. Cops and the legal system for example.

Forget about doing anything. The important thing is that you are safe. It will only cause you more hardship to pursue this matter in court. Considering the state of affairs, unless you have contacts higher up, chances are noone's gonna listen to you. By fighting it out in court you are gonna waste many years needlessly

Why are you hell bent on doing that guy something..if at all you get him. He also knows he has done the mistake. But taking law into your hands is not advisable. If at all you wanted to do something to him, you should have done on the same day itself. Suppose, you do something to that guy, he lodges complaint and who will be in trouble. Again, I feel you donot know anybody in police / politicians. How will you get out of this wrangle? The best way is leave it alone and foget it that it has happened. In my case, I have done kept quite after my wife insisted.

Hey, he said he was getting in touch with a lawyer, not taking the law into his own hands!
