Cops in Bangalore - a pictorial depiction

A small sting operation carried out by me on Bangalore cops.
Forgive the poor quality pics, please.

Taken at the EPIP junction, Whitefield

Cops allow traffic to flow thorugh the wrong lane/side without caring a damn about other patient road users who have been braving the traffic, and waiting. Those who came from behind got preference. Just goes to show that patience and road manners feature at an absolute low in their list. Ensuing snaps would show the absolute mess that resulted thanks to poor thinking in this regard.

Total Chaos now !!

These were taken during a random crackdown on the Outer Ring Road.
It was good to see heavy vehicles also being pulled up, although it was the 2 wheeler riders who were mainly pulled up.

They were dancing all over the road to stop just the 2 wheelers

Ssoon there was a huge number of offenders. Some had to pay with bills received for the same.

Others meanwhile went through the under the table route, after haggling in full public view as others watched on.

Nice one!! cheers:

"Make hay while the sun shines"

^This is what the cops of namma bengaluru are using as their philosophy currently while there are no Ministers to question their activities.

Also since the new year is drawing close, they need to rack up the "target" offenders and also fill in the deep deep deep pockets.

Within a span of 1km you will find cops representing multiple wards(stations) as well as the occasional RTO vigilantes.

Nice candid pics!

Have observed the same as I commute daily on that stretch to my office, I guess they have now stopped vehicles to go thru on the wrong lane!

And last week for the first time a Cop tried to flag me down, didn't stop though I had all the papers in hand, I suspected they will come with some grouse like tinted glass and ask for mamool....!

Nope, observed the same this every morning on my way to office. Thanks to one foolish cop, the others have to sort out the mess that gets created. and its not a one time affair.

Yes...poor 2 wheelers ...always getting caught and pay. Every day during the day time (after and before peak hours) it happens in every main road almost.

Dont ever say that. They are worst offenders on road.

I used to drive a tn registered bike regularly. Contrary to what i have heard, bangalore police have never harassed me for that. Infact couple of times they stopped and fined me (for not hearing helmet, taking a wrong right turn at a signal). But never was involved in any under table transaction. In both instance, it was 100rs fine with challan(hope that is original one...). Thats about it... no unnecessary talk or haggling etc.

Good job,ben!
It sure would be worthwhile to send these pics to TOI! Spead the awareness.. If one can't inculcate good driving habits, atleast make the motorists aware about which roads to avoid..

Of course,I wouldn't say that if all the money got through fines were being put to proper use.

What new awareness would happen? The whole country knows, this is already general awareness. The offenders are also fully aware. Few of them would themselves be critical of the wrongdoers and continue to offend. Everytime, you would logic upto them, they would say they already know, yet continue to reap the benefits of disobedience.
