The Zen does look it could do with better build quality/safety features, the cabin space in this particular instance has crumpled in a way that definitely exposes the passenger to serious harm. Not a safe car at all
Thats it. These are the scenarios manufacturers dont care abt when selling their cars here. But then again, they wont do a thing abt it unless mandated by a govt policy. Things are changing, albeit slowly, with active safety features made available in the econo-segments; but its too slow for the Indian's benefit.

4 or 5 years back, the local papers here carried an image of an Esteem and Bajaj RE auto which had collided head on. The accident itself was freakish, since one of the vehicles was doing a U/right turn on the divided highway between Edappally and Aluva.

The rick was UNSCATHED. The esteem was totalled. I repeat - it was TOTALLED. Nobody was injured.

Thats one nasty crash. Seems to have been done in by a truck. That Jogeshwari link road is highly prone to accidents. Surviving this one would be a miracle but I really hope there havent been any casualties.

Looks brutal, Hope the guys survived it.
you know what, one cant look at the crash and be completely sure of how it happened unless atleast the one gets to know the vehicles involved....
I guess a heavy loaded truck crashed into the car diagonally......Looks like a typical highway crash
Sure looks like the zen could do with better safety....but we dont know the maginitude of the crash....may be few other cars could also have not survived, most cars have thresh hold beyond which they cant take much....This zen is still better compared to the Estillo...
Nice job with the pics, didnt know a N73's cam was quite as capable.
