hey techno will take pics next week ...as for 150 bikes it would be more than that for sure...most of them just come to gather and watch...but many drag..and i guess u have not been to kharghar , cos there is enough space there to drag ..and many other drags take place here in which team-bhp members participated with their cars ....and since u are a member on xbhp u can ask xbhpian "bikefreak" ( abhinav ) he had also come with his cbr600.....i have a pic of a esteem which i liked , will take more pics next week.

it takes place further inwards of kharghar....if u enter kharghar from the highway take a right from the hiranandni circle and keep going some 2 kms and u will reach the place where it takes place.

Drags do take place every now and then. Many tuners too prefer to test thier cars on that stretch. But with all these accidents etc etc it might just pose a problem to have a proper drag in the near future.Wot say??

Indulge in stupid behaviour, and you will pay with your life more often than not. I am somehow not moved by the incident one bit.

yeah but here ,it looks as if the 800 driver was at fault and the biker has paid heavily for someone else's fault.

due to all this ,others may not get to enjoy the drag races.

Heavy foot's right.

I had gone to one of the drags with my CBR. I think it was the same week or very close. I remember I had gone a couple of weeks before the speed run to try out my bike as I was thinking of participating.

Unfortunately there were only Indian bikes and I did drag with a couple of them (after being requested and after allowing them to start from about 50 - 100 metres ahead).
They were obviously no competetion for my bike that does 0-100 in 3 secs !!

It's sad that the drags are no longer held. I agree that it was dangerous especially because some participants were not even wearing helmets !! All the same, in any race there's always a risk involved. Each person should know his(her) and the vehicle's limits.
Unfortunately there are a lot of brash young & immature riders at these drags and that is why the accidents take place.

Other than that, I don't think there's anything wrong with the drag. Even the speed run had its share of chaos and mishaps. In fact the Kharghar drags are better because only the hard core enthusiasts turn up unlike the ignorant & illiterate fools at the speed run.

I feel the TBHP members from Navi Mumbai should get together once in a while (but at a more earthly hour).
Of course the Mumbai guys are welcome to join.

WHAT SAY ??!!

And yes, there were about 150 bikes that night. Apparently more turn up but did not because there was another accident the previous week and they were expecting the police to interrupt and spoil the party.
