Bad one and really unfortunate. I had a similar experience at a PUC last June. Fortunately, only the bumper got dented.

What has happened to the driver.

1,42,000 !! I would love to see the pump owner's face when he hears the figure.

Lets hope he pays up and the car gets back to you in perfect shape.

Whenever there has been an incident of this sort, the offender would coolly say "claim insurance saar' & get on with it. Good to know that this was not the case here.

Entire door shell. Attaching a screenshot of the parts estimate. These cars are good as long as you dont damage them. If you do, the costs are totally killer.

Protective strip - Rs. 9170?
Weather strip - Rs 7714?
Deflective strip - Rs 3144?

Wonder what these are made of? Anyone knows the amount the manufacturer must be actually spending in manufacturing/sourcing these?

Would you have more details about the procedure you mentioned ?
Hi condor, no special testing stuff here... the way a diesel burner is to be tested is what i explained before - Exhaust Gas Analysis At diff Engine RPM levels and their respective Oil Temperatures... thats why even though you go through a eyewash of the pump guy 'ONLY' sticking a air tube up your car's muffler, you end up with a report of a 3-WAY analysis. The Govt has proposed a 10-sample test, thats why you may see 10 different readings of diff RPM's? Am i right, can you check your sumo's PUC? I can propose one thing if you are ready to do it... how long is it since you got your test for the sumo done, if its less than 1 month - go take it again, even BETTER take a friends Diesel car and get the test done, you MAY see the SAME numbers between 2 certificates.

Details wise - I am finding data in the Web on EGA - exhaust gas analysis for diesel engines, please hold on for a few days...

-------
GTO - thx for the bill screen shot, its almost worth my 2nd hand Alto !!

OMG - These are sure to hurt any owner, wonder how these cars still manage to sell in decent numbers though, IMO 40-60K is acceptable for the entire assy, not sure where the other 1L can be fit in...brand value?

GTO Sir, Can you throw some light on the PUC of a diesel engine if its done the proper way - (because, in bangalore i always see a con job, and sadly the police and RTO are hand in hand, i have ONLY ONCE seen a proper PUC of a diesel truck, took nearly a hour - testing 3-way; each of the 6 pump-nozzles and testing at 10 diff RPM samples and their respective oil temps and gas compositions)

---------

Like I said earlier, these high end sedans are good only if you don't damage them. Auto Hangar just called. Some parts have been called in from Pune and the rest from Singapore. Its going to be 11 days until they have all the required parts with them.
