There was a German registered VW Kombi Van in Goa last year. I've also seen a Fiat Marea with UK plates which is being driven around for about 2 years now.

Are people allowed to drive through in their personal cars?

People living near Nepal and Bangladesh border probably would know.

We have couple of cars in darjeeling with Bhutan Plates. Its that how well known you are in your city.

This will amuse some
BTW when you go to nepal in your vehicle, you will be given a plate at the border, You have to stick it or just keep behind wind shield . You have to return it when you leave the country.
ANd there are payment modes for a day week months.

How utterly cool having Dubai plates !

Perhaps Ill now go in for Dubai plates and some lower duties, thank you my countrymen. Appreciate it.

Technically the Dubai plate belongs to the Dubai Government, no export allow, no ?

I still have my florida number plates that I had on my MX6. It's locked in my suitcase. Also I have a complementary Universal studios number plate. I'm very tempted to replace my existing MH number plates with those!

Depending on the RTO, the registration process does take a bit of time. Till then the car is allowed to run on its original plates. Some countries have export plates where the original registratation is cancelled and a temporary (export) registration and plate is given to allow you to drive into the next country of registration. Otherwise you have to use the original registration in the new country until the new registration is done and the old one is cancelled.

Saw this same one on the Palm Beach road (I guess it was the same weekend). Credit to the driver for driving safely and at decent speeds.
