I am guessing it should be fine in a couple of days.
Load shedding will come down, and diesel usage by generators.

Just hoping for the best !!!

Its slowly limping back to normalcy with the bellary power plant coming alive and will start supplying to its full capacity of 500MW in 3 weeks.

The rains are only improving the power situation (in terms of demand/ generation).

@mods i was not sure if its the right topic please move if not thanks.

I filled up my car's fuel tank, and I thought fuel has
become really expensive after the recent price hike.

But then I compared it with other common liquids and did
some quick calculations, and I felt a little better.

To know why, see the results below â€" you'll be
surprised at how outrageous some other prices are ! !

Diesel (regular) : Rs.40 per litre

Petrol (speed) : Rs.70 per litre

Coca Cola 330 ml can : Rs.20 = Rs.61 per litre

Dettol antiseptic 100 ml Rs.20 = Rs.200 per litre

Radiator coolant 500 ml Rs.160 = Rs.320 per litre

Pantene conditioner 400 ml Rs.165 = Rs.413 per litre

Medicinal Mouthwash like closeup 100 ml Rs.45 = Rs. 450
per litre

Red Bull 150 ml can : Rs.75 = Rs.500 per litre

Corex cough syrup 100 ml Rs.57 = Rs. 570 per litre

Kores whiteout 15 ml Rs. 15 = Rs. 1000 per litre

Cup of coffee at any decent business hotel 100 ml Rs. 50 =
Rs. 500 per litre

Old Spice after shave lotion 100 ml Rs. 175 = Rs. 1750 per
litre

Pure almond oil 25 ml Rs. 68 = Rs. 2720 per litre

And this is the REAL KICKER...

HP DeskJet colour ink cartridge 21 ml Rs.1900 = Rs. 90476
per litre!!!

Now you know why computer printers are so cheap ? So they
have you hooked for the ink !

So, the next time you're at the pump, don't curse
anyone just be glad your car doesn't run on cough
syrup, after shave, coffee, or God forbid, printer ink!

Economic Times reports severe diesel shortages across Maharashtra thanks to heavy use of diesel for power generation, since most towns in the States are facing over 6 hours of power cuts.

The power supply situation has improved in Bangalore thanks to the rains, which explains why diesel demand has also decreased.

Situation continues to be grim in Pune. Most of the bunks are out of stock on diesel. If they do have, its being rationed for Rs 500 only. On any other day, you would not find a single car on a non descript bunk on Dehu road, but last 2 days, there is about a 1-2 km long queue to get Diesel :-(

This will hurt economy badly. Already due to shortage of power, Industry is trying to come to the terms with Diesel Gensets. Small Scale Industry cannot afford Gensets. They simply have to shut down the work and wait for the power. Today's paper hints full day power shut off on Fridays as well :-(. Shortage of fuel has also started affecting commodity availability such as groceries etc. IT does not help to fight inflation in this way...

Frustration.Frustration.Frustration

Takecare and drive safely (if you get Diesel/petrol)

I was lucky yesterday. Filled up my Chevy baby to the brim, before my trip to Kerala. HP pump opposite to Dorabjee's had fuel! Thank God.

No airconditioning today in the office. Reason: Thursday is load shedding day here and the genset has run out of diesel.

If it gets any warmer, I am going home. Thankfully, my car has a petrol engine and has half a tank of fuel left.

Hello Bangaloreans,

I faced the problem of getting regular diesel today. Went to a couple of bunks today only to be told that there is no regular diesel. Finally had to tank up with Hi-Speed Diesel from BP station at Bashyam Circle. Anyone facing similar issues today ?? Not sure if this is another bout of shortage we are having or is it just that it was a co-incidence that 2 bunks were out of regular diesel.
