Completed the trip

Guys,

Just come back after long holiday. Have finished the trip on the below route.

The Route Taken to Guruvayur from Theni:-
Theni - Bodi - Bodimettu - Pooppara - Rajakkad - Ponmudi Dam - Adimali - Kothamangalam - Perumbavur - Kaladi - Angamali - Chalakkudi - Thrissur - Guruvayur.

The Distance: - Total 251kms
Theni - Pooppara = 56kms
Pooppara - Adimali = 45kms
Adimali - Kothamangalam = 52Kms
Kothamangalam - Angamali = 31Kms
Angamali - Thrissur = 42kms
Thrissur - Guruvayur = 25kms

Road Condition: - Was very good except 2kms before Ponmudi dam. Otherwise the entire stretch was very nice and scenic.

The Route Taken while coming back:-
Guruvayur – Thrissur – Chalakkudi – Athirappaly Falls – Angamali – Kaladi – Perumbavur – Kothamangalam – Adimali – Munnar – Devikulam – Pooppara – Bodimettu – Bodi – Theni.

While coming back from Athirappaly Falls after crossing the Athirappaly police station we have noticed a direction to Angamali and it said “Save 18kms”. Also you can avoid Chalakkudi and Angamali stretch. So took left and continued with the road. Crossed the forest check post and crossed lots of villages also. There are many deviations on the road but local people are kind enough to show the correct direction. In one village 11kms before Angamali, found another direction to go Perumbavur directly, but the villagers told not to take the route as the road is in worst shape.

Reached Angamali and then continued towards Kothamangalam. While returning took Munnar route. My suggestion is not to take Munnar route as the road condition just 25kms before Munnar and till Pooppara after Munnar are in very bad shape.
