Truck drivers put condoms to other uses

Once I was travelling from my native to Bangalore in an overnight bus. The road was too bad in few places and one stone happend hit the diesel pipe of the bus and fuel got leacking. :Frustrati

This occured around 1am some where after Gonikoppal (Coorg Dist, KA) and next big town is Hunsur. We stopped and the cleaner was examining the leackage. We were so desperate to see the amount of diesel flowing out while raising the engine. The nearby workshop is only at Hunsur which is bit far off. That time one truck stoped near to our bus and asked whats the problem. After seing this leackage the truck driver gave one packet of condom to tie up the leackage till we can reach Hunsur.
Intersetingly, we could reach one near by 24/7 workshop without much hurdles..!!! Got replaced the faulty pipe and continued the journey.

If we didn't get such a help, we would be waiting till morning at the lonely place in the chilling night as that was the last bus for the day..!!!

And now after 14-16 months, happends to see this report in Times..!!

Interesting that the Diesel pipe should burst in a BUS..It usually happens in a Jeep while offroading with full load!

Use of rubber to plug leaks is an old trick. Keep some in your car .. you never know when you will need it !

You know indians are very innovative in reusability.
