its tough to get it implemented.
generally if your getting a call you have to pull over and attend the call right.
where will you pull over in crowded streets of Bangalore,Bombay,Calcutta etc.
IMO hands free should be allowed

I dont get how the high end gadgetry will get affected by this rule, I have not even come close to getting caught using my car audio bluetooth while driving and it is a lot lot safer than holding your phone in between your cheek and shoulder.
cops just cant make out there is a phone call happening.

EDIT: By the way, this is more opportunity for cops to make a fast buck, I think traffic constables will rejoice if this comes into swing, they will pocket 500 bucks everytime they catch anyone and Govt will get NOTHING!

This will end up to be one more option for the police to fleece the people and make more pocket money... and does the government really expect, although the motive might have been good, to really make an effect?

It's going to be tough to have a check on mobile users in cars during peak traffic times, especially in the metros- true, I guess most of the 'regulars' on the phone,have already shifted to in-car bluetooth receivers- which is OK IMO.
The main metro roads are perennially clogged with traffic, and actually brings down the chances of high impact accidents (kind of a boon yes?)
It is the highways and expressways that need much much tighter implementation of these rules, how about installation of wide range mobile jammers in high speed accident prone areas?. Expensive equipment- but if someone puts the ideas into the head of politicians they'll be happy too - getting kickbacks from the tenders and also have the glory of having done something. This is more true in the case of karnataka, where ANYTHING can happen if you have money involved.

Next is what? To ban drivers talking to fellow passengers, listening to music etc... Its rubbish to ban handsfree & bluetooth...

This is going to be 1 of those additional law that exists in paper but in reality only make the traffic cops to milk more bribe :rules:
