Civic vs Baleno

Driving along the ring road at 2am, we see a silver Civic go past us on the other side. Aveek had it pegged as a '95 model. Hung a quick U, and went alongside it, and took off. Hit the limiter in each gear, and pulled away from him like hell. Then, at the turn-off to KR Puram, slowed down, and waited for him. But wait! He goes the other way, all cylinders blazing. So I turn and floor it. Managed to keep up with him throughout, hitting the limiter in 3rd and beyond.

Slowed down at the 24-hr gas station at KR Puram. Got out and checked the car out. Turned out to be a '96 Civic (close, Aveek!!). MH (Mumbai) registered. Silver, with Xenons. The dude said it had headers, and puts out over 110 bhp. 16+ quarter mile.

I bet he never saw 96 horses run so fast in his life!!

ps. psycho...all this because i went to ngef to try your advice out. I'll need a Hummer for that place, dude!!!

good writeup and i bet that guy was kicking himself but a baleno has 94 BHP and not 96.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! V1p3r, you s**k!! So much for your obsessio bout ur car...

... But the drive was fun... and the Civic did manage to keep up - not close the gap, keep up with us... and at 2 at night that was a bitt off entertainment... hehe...

Nice write-up dude.The Civic guy would surely be stunned!!!
Anyways,that Civic is from South mumbai.The guy has a office in Maker towers.Almost everyday the car can be seen.Looks good with those xenons and semi-black glasses.

hey aveek v1p3r...thats a 1.6 carb ciiv owner is irshad. does not have xenons but a bangled headlight kit. i now because i sold it to him!!
pretty stock and has hedders done by dom. car is quick.

@nitrous...dude you want to get me killed? whenever ice or dom get cars out...i drool and sit and watch...waayyy outta my league!!!

@psycho...dude...have to go at night only...because daytime cops and other ppl using the ground (maybe?)....cricket etc... also sunday nite...bpo crowd not visible for some reason...but point taken...cheers

hey dude read my post...car is quick did not compare it to your baleno...also its 11 years old running carb....weighs a lot more than the baleno and is more in bhp than the baleno.

true...i assumed you meant quickER than baleno...my mistake...

but the dude said 16.xx quarter mile...puts it in vtec league atleast...so how come it couldn't blast past me...or was he not maxing it???
