Baleno vs Optra 1.8

Esteems are faster, so are palio GTXs.
The Optra is indeed faster to 100 then the Baleno but a baleno is more fun.
But the corolla is the fastest (4th fastest in acceleration in INDIA).

yeah...the baleno is so much fun to drive than the optra.the response from the aluminium engine and the slick shifts makes every ride a joyride.

SLICK SHIFT??!! I pretty much hated the Baleno shift.... it just seemed very notchy, and you couldn't be too sure of whether the car had been engaged in gear or not... but then, I guess I'm likely to feel that bout many cars after my OHC, so... hehe...

One thing i can surely say, is that Baleno does NOT have a slick shift.

Optra vs Vtec vs Baleno

Maybe the Vtec will be damn fast so why not a 1.5.. lets see who wins.. my guess it will be the OHC hehe.. Aveek get ready to beat v1p3r(in his baleno) and Rudra Sir(in his optra running on 205S)

Slick shift? Which Baleno is this?

Iceman, is there anyway to improve the feel and reduce the lag of the box? Losing 2500 rpm into 2nd does not help anyone!!!

So, when is the Hitchhiker's movie out???

I don't think you can call the baleno's shift slick - it's notchy and not too comfy - th old honda city, our adventure and of course the optra feel much better.

but i doubt the esteem or gtx are faster than the baleno upto 60 or a 100. th eoptra 1.8 and the corolla are perhaps the only cars under 10L which are faster.

as of the movie, it just premeired in London - initial revies are not too good - seem sas they've cut a lot of th ebook out (okay, that's a limitation iof every movie - remember alistair maclean's movies ? ) but it's not too funny and ford prefect is in a very minor role.
dunno when it'll come to india if at all - there's palika bazaar fir dvd's though.

Optra 1.8 is not under 10 lakh, atleast in Bangalore. Iceman says Esteem is quicker to 100, though. Palio is too heavy. Corolla is bloody quick, but high front dashboard sill and SUV like ground clearance make the driving experience suck.

what abt the Skoda RS or 1.8TPi?? i suppose its got the fastest acceleration among the cars in india...8.4sec compared to corollas 9.8sec

Geez you guys are damn kewl! A Optra will any day beat a Baleno. In any gear at any time and at any speed and i am talking about the 1.8. it reaches a ton in just about 10secs. 10.4 to be precise. Top whack of 192. Good Torque. But its the baleno which feels much enjoyable to drive and loves to be reved hard.

I love the baleno and looking at Icemans i feel in love with it!
