My Alto rear-ended by a fool!

Was stuck in a traffic jam yesterday & this 800 comes & rams into the rear-end of my 2003 Alto (impeccably maintained, may i add!)

The damage isnt much , mostly cosmetic; but immediately afterwards i felt as if there was some slight resistance when the car moved.
maybe it was just me who was a little shook-up or watever..

Anyways,i have asked the Service station to pick the car up for fixing the bumper & bonnet tomorrow.

Just want to know what i should ask them to check? transmission..? rear axle..? i dunno much abt the mechanicals..it was not that big a "dhakka" anyways...my car had just come from Service on Sunday!

TIA !
P.S : this is URGENT, they will pick it up on 6th March at 9am!

Psychological is the word that come to my mind. You say it was a minor bump by a M800 that resulted in a cosmetic damage and that too to the rear bumper.

IMHO, it would a take a lot more than that to affect the tranny or something else mechanical. It is all in the mind as they say...

Since you've kept your ride "impeccably" I know how you feel about it.

Why the bonnet needs repair?? And where is the rear axle? This is a front wheel drive isnt it?

Same question as scooby why Bonnet?

btw the relatively small bump might have bent some metal which might be touching the tyre. Just get it inspected thoroughly.

Eventhough the bump is minor to the car it can be a bit high psychologically.... Get the car throughly checked by a qualified mechanic..
I second Technocrat, there may be some prece touching the tyre..
If the rear lights are broken, it is good to check the rear wiring.
Also check the rear shock absorbers.

What should one do in case of an accident like above?

(a) abuse and threaten the errant driver and drive off (create scene on road)
(b) physically assault the driver or his car
(c) note down the number and lodge a complaint
(d) Cuss or kiss and say good bye

For myself I know I will never do (a) - (c), except perhaps (c) in case of extreme case.

(e) If the driver is decent enough, ask him to pay for the damages+loss in no claim bonus of the next 4 years.

Catch here is how to make sure that the driver will pay afterwords...so most people try to extract as much as possible on the spot itself!

Regards,

Buxx, to lighten the mood a little, maybe the 800 saw your impeccably maintained Alto and could not resist the urge to plant a kiss.

Might have been a drifter / drag racer driving the 800. After spending a few years very close to sand
