Watch out for traffic snarls and diversions due to visit of President of India starting tonight and continuing till tomorrow.

Her route on 30-Nov is Old Airport at Begumpet to Raj Bhawan tonight.

Her route on 01-Dec is Raj Bhawan to HICC/Novotel and HICC/Novotel to Old Airport at Begumpet.

Thanks, but I've got used to those alerts, and very rarely did I get affected, though both my old and new flat always lay on the VIP route.

You are in for trouble only if you happen to go on those routes around 15 minutes before the convoy passes by.

I think they use some kind of scramblers in these convoys. I noticed a couple of times that the cell phones stop working when the convoy was passing by.

Yep, the Scropio with antennae popping out is the one. Even FM radio gets fuzzed out when that vehicle passes by.

Is there any news about incidents, road blocks, etc due to the buffoon's arrest?
Almost all the shops were closed or being forced to close while I was on my way to work!

I went out towards Himayat Nagar passing Khairtabad, Secretariat and Tank Bund, Heavy Police Bandobust but there is crowd commensurate to a Sunday morning.

I have tickets for an afternoon show of Paa at INOX (GVK Mall) today. Any idea if the mall is going to be open? Their numbers seem to be perpetually busy.

So frustrating how a bunch of useless buggers (laughing, smiling in all happiness when on TV/photgraph) hijack the whole city.

Guys, I am flying back to Hyd from BLR tonight---will reach Hyd airport at 1045 pm.

Are cabs plying? Anything I need to be careful of?

GVK Mall, as all other malls, was closed today. We were told our movie tickets would be refunded once the mall opens up which could be day after tomorrow.

Venu - I did see Meru/Radio cabs on the road. I think the buses and cabs would be plying as usual from the airport and the roads are generally safe today. Only the shops/establishments are all closed (at least during the day).

The road in front of In Orbit Mall is a one way. But very few people seem to respect the same. Especially the employees of the company located there.
Most motorcycle riders decide that saving maybe 5 mins of their time is enough reason to break the law.

Actually the same situation exists in the stretch between RMS and In Orbit.
And also the small stretch between the Cyber Gateway and road towards Gur Nihal.

I sometimes block a car if its on the wrong side.
Yesterday an idiot, who just picked up a lady from the s/w company in front of the In Orbit ran into me.

I effectively blocked his silver car for almost 10 - 15 minutes.

He might have never anticipated that someone with a nice big L board on his car will know the tricks.
His reving the engine had no effect on me.
His attempt to move back and slide past had me moving forward and blocking him more.

In a final attempt he did a sharp left(for me) turn in reverse.
But got blocked by another car coming in that lane.

Finally the moron had no choice but to correct the side and leave.
I hope he felt as humiliated as possible.
May his ego trip on itself over and over again.

To break the law is one thing.
To try an intimidate someone is worse.

Who ever you are dude, your lady friend deserves better than the punk you are..

I flew into Hyderabad on Monday morning.
No aeroexpress service.

The cabs were available.
In fact I took a shared cab from the Airport to Masab Tank.
The going rate was 300 bucks per person in an Indica.

My colleague took a Meru at the regular rate.

I preferred a share cab because of the driver mentioning shortage of fuel in the city. Plus I had just one small bag.

I flew back to Hyderabad last night and Aeroexpress services were available. Reached Hitec City and then after picking up my bike from office, reached home around 11:00 PM.
No signs of problems anywhere except that there were really long queues at the petrol pumps.

Speculations are that the situation will worsen tomorrow but it's just a rumor! :)

As much as I understand the situation is supposed to worsen tomorrow. There are 14000 police personnel in the city along with 4 battalions of RAF. It all depends on the moron's health

Holiday tomorrow (10/12/2009) - not worth risking my precious car and my life by venturing out of my house. School (DPS) has declared a holiday also.
