Whats your comfortable cruising speed?

This isn't about how fast you can drive. This is about, the speed you usually do on a relaxed cruise or on a long distance journey.

Make sure that you vote for the speed at which you feel the most confident and at the same time, enjoy your drive.

NOTE : Incase you have more than 1 car, choose the car that you drive the most.

It depends a lot on the car...

say in the Accent i'd cruise happily around 130kmph.
Indica 110kmph.
Zen - 100kmph
800 - 80kmph.

Its all about the car and the roads.

I usually cruise between 100 and 120kmph. It's not too fast and it's not too slow.

100 - 120 is a comfortable cruising speed in India. About 140-160 here (except while approaching a speed camera) is good enough to cruise.

Hey Shan2nu....you come out with some cool polls....

I've voted for 100-120 cause that's what I'm more comfortable at...anything more than that is a accident in waiting on Indian roads...except expressway where you can easily cruise at 140+

Cheers!!!

if its on a road with oncoming traffic then its a max of 120kph.
if its the ghats or roads with superb corners ,then sky is the limit.its only engine braking and slow in and fast out
on the expressway type roads its 120-140 kph.and an ocassional mad burst of 160kph speedo.

i have voted for 100-120kph.

well it all depends on what car im driving... usually, on an open road if its my mercedes, i go around 100-110 km/h... if its the porsche, well i havent really taken notice but im sure its around 130km/h...and on the expressway, well i have touched a max speed of 240 in the mercedes, havent had a chance to unleash the porsche on the expressway

in a 65mph zone 90mph is very comfortable because 65mph actually feels really slow... 90mph everything is still very comfortably under control

I have chosen 80-100 kmph coz i drive Santro and once it goes over 120 its starts vibrating so crusing can be called @ 100 kmph.
Whereas it changes with car .... Drifter's Accent while going to Goa, I was very much happy doing in 120 region.

Shan2nu, do you consider 30-60kmph on a long distance journey as poll option?

I either drive the Skoda 1.9Tdi or the E220 CDI for long distance travel and hence my preference is between 121-140 kmph ...
Provided there is road to do that kinda speeds ...

considering i just turned 18 and dont have much experience driving i usually drive between 60 - 80 kmph i feel safe at those speeds and i no that i am in full control incase some thing just springs up in the middle of the road.it does feel slow sometimes but i usually cruise at 80.

100-120kmph is sane enough speed cruising in India. You never know who might kump onto the road out of nowhere !
