Think about it,

The driver and passengers primary safety system was a 3-point seatbelt, which is not very effective in a side impact at 160+km/h! (looks like the car took quite a front&RHS impact).

And Shan, the worrying part about drifters tires for me are not how bald they are, but how they clearly indicate that they have consistently been run at LOW tire pressures for thousands of kilometers. (and he still continues to!!!!)

Yup, can clearly see that the tyres have worn out more, at the edges (typical case of underinflation).

But, like someone mentioned, the way those concrete barriers have been placed, just made the crash even worse. A very bad track design, i must say.

Now this is what i call a safe track.

This is the Paul Ricard circuit, which has probably started a revolutionary trend in track design.

No gravel traps and no grassy run offs. Everything is replaced with high grip paint and every colour has a diff level of adhesion.

Having witness an EVO 8 being pushed on a simple track - it started wearing out its tyres pretty fast - quite possible they over did the tyres or cooked the brakes or just lost concentration ?
