140+ speedo indicated on my Indica DLE. Oh and this car is bonkers. While going to Bangie it will do 140 and while coming back it will max out at 120. Thats a Tata for you!!

Guys trust me..I was there during that special moment when the car touched 196 and stayed for a couple of secs before he had to lower it (considering the fact that the car is really old & with the stock 1 lakh kms+ clocked clutch).....

thanks to some bloke who did not clear the way for us...Was a great feeling though at such a speed after a long time.

170kph in an OHC on the NICE road in bangalore. Everytime I reach a new top speed, I feel that I can go beyond that!! Speed is indeed addictive!

Did 200kmph on Mazda 6 auto on highway in Muscat. Only for a few seconds was too freaked out to go any further...and and 140 on honda city 2004 CVT on phoenix mill bridge mumbai :-)

Being a novice, I did 140 in my friend's NHC GXi on the empty NICE stretch. Let me try again & reach higher.

260, 270 ? I feel rather sheepish, but here goes...

The fastest I've driven is - 150 Kmph. It was a few weeks since I'd got my Alto, & it was on the ECR. This was the indicated speed on the speedo, so it was probably a tad optimistic.

The funny thing is that I had my mom, & a couple of relatives (50+) with me in the car, but they were fast asleep, & I was spared 2 hours of lectures on the foolishness of youth

Anyways, I wonder, who's cracked the ton here on team-bhp ?

why do i never see anybody zipping by everytime i hit the roads..

With so many people doing such marvellous speed I must see a lot of them pushing it to the floor.
Anyway, did 180kmph with my current OHC on my drive to pune last month and have really no idea as to how much correction be there with the odo.

One final pointer to all you streetracers out there, be careful at the pune expressway, especially if its hot and peak daylight hours. Will post pics by tonite of the blown up tire from the OHC while at 140kmph on pune express highway last afternoon. Luckily, me and my ride got away unhurt.

I guess this is not a problem one would encounter in most of India:

Doing 215km/h (speedo, 205 is factory max) in an '87 Peugeot 505 Turbo in Colorado I had to slow down, because even though it was early summer there was still ice under bridges. A bit nervous...

Have done 230km/h in a Golf VR6, with the owner (my great-uncle) in the passenger seat. Autobahn.

you mean over 1000 kmph in a wheeled vehicle on land? i doubt anyone here on tbhp... yet.

the land speed record is around 1223kmph in some rocket powered vehicle.
