That vehicle is SSC Thrust it made the land speed record in 1997 and still holds it as the fastest car, its made by the same company that has made the SSC Ultimate Aero, the fastest production car on the planet. Beating the Bugatti Veyron, its capable fo reaching 437 km/h whereas the bugatti touches 408 km/h.

The Ton usually refers to 100 mph and I'm sure there are a lot of people who've done more than that on the forum. But I'm not sure if that's what Srini meant.

~ 185 kmph (speedo reading), 4th gear, RPM 5700, 3 people on board, A/C switched off, East Coast Road (Pondicherry to Chennai), Swift Vxi with stock tyres (~2.5 K on odo)

The engine feels smoother now at 10k+ and confidence's higher with Michelin Energy XM1s 185/70s...lets see..

BTW, we were going in pairs, Accent CRDi and the Swift. The Swift easily kept pace (in 4th gear) and in anything resembling a corner, the Swift just pulverized the Accent.

No Offence but it is Not at all possible. 4th gear at 5700 RPM and touching 185 kmph? Duh!! Impossible. Your Speedo needs a good checkup dude.
Means if your 1.3L Car can cross 200 kmph at 5th gear. Duh!! Strange. Your gear ratios will not allow you to do it at any cost.

Very much possible. Please state the facts which enable you to conclude that it is not possible.

Dude the swifts top speed is achieved in the 4th gear and in the 5th gear and with a little downslope its very much possible to reach 185 (speedo read) and in 5th gear the top whack will be lower than the top speed achieved in 4th gear as the gear ratios are very tall. Also note he has a Vxi variant swift with stock tyres which are 165/80/r14 so rolling resistance is low too

Maybe Possible

Its A petrol and in a petrol car the top speed is attained in 4th gear and not the 5th gear,

It is the diesel in which the top speed is attained in 5th gear

But That Would Then Mean a Low-Loaded Car. A downslope ( Maybe ) and a very Heavy foot!

Here, i'm not talking of achieving 185 kmph on stock tyres. But i'm talking of the RPM which he mentioned to achieve this speed.
