160 on a stock 3 month old Accent GLE

Am a Newbie and a new driver too...
Speed and Power has always interested me. Have just completed 6500kms in my first/best Accent GLE.

As a test of my confidence and my dear's capability, pushed her to my limits on the Chennai-Bangalore Highway. The road is a pleaure to drive on, except for unexpected people-crossing-the-road-out-of-nowhere.

She went to 160 butter-smooth, when I noticed an old lady crossing the road nearly 1/2km away and so had to stop the gas.

Am damn sure, she would have done more. And I did 260kms (Chennai-Krishnagiri) in 3 hrs sharp (with one pit stop (5 mins for refreshing) and 3 toll-gates).

And guys, the figures here you have made are simply .

Happy Motoringcheers:

Guys the whole business of high speeds is also about the proper roads, correct tyres and other safety precautions. All of us can fall prey to the temptation to floor the throttle. I have done it myself only to realise how stupid it is. Do please bear in mind that everytime you push your car or bike to its limits the risk of an accident goes up dramatically. Its really not worth the risk and I would humbly request people resist the temptation.

There is little value to a discussion on how fast someone has gone, except for bragging rights.

the expressway is actually not a very good platform to conduct the speed test on.

the reason is because of the uphill downhill slopes encountered throughout.
Even a small downhill can give you 5-10 kmph boost, where the same stretch while going uphill will cause a similar loss of top speed.

170 + on my Scorpio between Tanuku and Eluru. The same stretch in my Verna CRDI i touched 160 . I should tell you one thing even at that speed Scorpio response for brake is much better than Verna. Sure I am not going for a try to 170+ on Verna
