Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Silk Board flyover, since yesterday, is down to 1 lane northbound, as it is being resurfaced. Traffic going towards Madiwala/St.Johns is piled up at the entrance of the flyover and this is having a knock-on effect on BETL.

Accident on Hebbal Flyover said to be due to air show.

It is a confirmed hoax. The pile up was not due to Aero Show and BTP has confirmed that.

Surprisingly, none of the cars seem have their Air bags deployed. Any reason for this ?

I don't think anybody cares if its due to the Aero show or not.

The question is: Did it happen this week or not. Have BTP confirmed this?

It happened at a low speed. Chances are the rear most car had its airbags deployed depending on speed of impact

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Given the traffic on BETL, I'm assuming it's safe to enter the city (from Hosur Road) by going under the expressway through Parangipalya-HSR-Koramangala and continue towards the city.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

What an excellent Saturday. Had to be at office for some work in the afternoon. Left for Dairy Circle at 1300Hrs from Chandapura side today. Was hoping for a smooth run (just 22kms). A massive jam welcomed me right before the truck laybye on BETL. I crossed Madiwala PS at 1435Hrs, which is like 11kmph !! (??) The road tarring work is on progress at Silk Board fly over.

And beware! I saw workers preparing the other line (Madiwala PS to Elec. City) for re-tarring. So next week, commuting from office to home would be fun .

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Guys, a quick query. Is the work on Mysore road flyover complete? Is traffic allowed now? Need to travel from MG Road to RVCE this evening. If not, what is the alternate route?

A BHPian friend confirms that it was thrown open to public as of last week.

He also mentioned that the other side will be closed soon for repairs.

Outbound carriageway (towards Mysore) is done. The inbound lanes will be blocked shortly and traffic routed similarly (last time, they used the Chamrajpet exit to route outbound lanes under the flyover while inbound lanes went via City Market exit). Similar setup in reverse now.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

The speed limit on the E-city flyover is 60 KMPH. I noticed that if I do not break the rule, am blocking a lot of traffic who are above the speed limit. I am now confused if I should stop blocking traffic and break the speed limit or if I should be following the rule and staying at 60 KMPH!

By the way, to stay in 60, I would have to drive the full stretch in 5th gear!

Since when did it change from 80kmph to 60kmph?
