Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

I dont see anyone complaining where it matters ! Why would anyone fix this ? The situation is so grave but nobody is bothered about it. Man in charge of state is still doling out free sops everyday. Spending 5 to 6 hours on road is what ?

Be careful when you spot a puddle. Given the excellent engineering by BBMP, it can even swallow a whole car. I cant imagine the fate of a motorcyclist in the same position as me. I guess this adds to the list of the hazards during driving.
Are you sure this is Bangalore roads? I have to ask as I could not find any pothole for more than a kilometre

I think more than the pothole it's the poorly designed road/banking that has resulted in waterlogging.

It looked like the Old Airport Road.
Possibly thanks to the defense establishments lined along this road, the materials were used more generously, resulting in 'dumps' rather than potholes.

Well most of the roads I take during commute are pretty well kept. Hence I get to do some good speeds both ways

I use the road from KR Puram Ganesh temple to Hoodi via ayyapa nagar. May be you can try that route. I use that road daily.
There are 2 roads, one always clogged while the other is little free

The clogged route:

It is still in the same state. I checked yesterday. Though other cars were taking the left turn just before where it has been dug, i preferred taking a U turn and go up till KR Puram market.

Thanks, Yes I know of a small short cut that can bypass the block. But the road is narrow and very bad condition, low slung sedans will not make through there.

I came from Hoodi to KR Puram today through this road and did not find any issue apart from some slow moving traffic at the narrow points. Rest was all good. This was in my car and the only thing to look out for is deep potholes at random places on the road(obviously)

Escaped the mess today too until the CBD, after which I got stuck in a jam to end up at a bike showroom booking myself a bigger bike

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Didn't fall for the sunny morning in my area, stuck by decision to stay home. Vindicated by incoming messages from team members wanting to stay/return home.

I'll spare everyone the infrastructure rant.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

General rule of thumb - if it rains hard the night before and rain is later predicted, avoid Sarjapur and work from my office in town

The situation is bound to stay that way for a few days (or months?). There were a few huge moon-craters on Tuesday Morning in front of Accenture which caused delays. Some aliens came and filled it up probably with bricks, mud, gravel etc.., and since Wednesday, there are mountains, valleys and small streams at the same place. The vehicles need to negotiate them and that will obviously cause more delays until someone decides to flatten it out. I don't have many alternate routes left now. Not sure what to do!

+1 to the guy who has commented on that post. Using the tagline of a scooter brand, "Why should common people have all the fun"!

BTP should stop allowing all these kind of movement except for Emergency vehicles IMO.
